I presume he got married for convenience. It was what was expected of him. If he had stayed under the radar and not gone for the big network anchor job, he could have just written books and consulted and kept hooking up with the same person he had been with, but he wanted more. So, he got married to a celebrity. She was tired of hustling for gigs and knew she wouldn't have to work any longer unless she wanted to. She always was trying to get someone higher on the list and she managed to. She has always let him explore with anyone he wants. Her only rule was to never get caught. Now, he is on the way out from his high profile very high paying job and he wants to find very young men and be wild and not have to pretend any longer. The thing is, if he does that then everyone will know the marriage was fake and his wife doesn't want to be embarrassed like that.
