This currently running TV show and a show from decade and half ago share a few things including some of the same people running it, and themes of mystery, horror, and people isolated in an otherworldly way. A supporting actor from the older show is a lead in the current show. A leaked copy of a script for the next season of the current show will formally link the two show with an acknowledgement of the location of the first show, a similar explanation to unearthly events, and the appearance of a couple of the actors in character from the first show including this Emmy winning actor whose character in the first show had a handicap due to an injury.
