This was either right after his marriage fell apart or a few months later, depending on who's telling the story, but the details are consistent: the North of the border A++ lister showed up at a nightclub by himself and promptly got hauled out by his handlers - who were hot on his heels- before he could act a fool. 

He's quite lucky to have dealt with an accommodating media his whole life. It's hard to picture someone with such a messy personal life passing scrutiny in the UK or US.
