Don’t believe for a second that the restaurant giant’s latest marketing stunt is some sort of affectionate tribute. They may have let it slide for decades, but now that this foreign country’s entertainment industry is so popular worldwide, they are coming for the royalties by trademarking a favorite gimmick of that industry and making it officially theirs. Don’t expect to see it used in too many shows from now on.
