Blind Item #9 - Reader Blind - Kindness

A number of decades ago, this very recently deceased person was the co-founder and one of the vocalists of a popular musical group that had several hits. He wrote one of the biggest ones which had a one-word title.  Over the years, he joined a couple live reunion tours but changed his full time career to being a drug abuse counselor inspired by his own drug problems which he conquered and the deaths of a few friends.  He counselled and saved the lives of many other musicians who struggled with drug addiction.
