Today's Blind Items - Tutors

There is a huge scam going on right now in preparation for the fall semester of school. It is a scam I used to see back in the day, but haven't for a long time. When I saw it back in the day, it was more for a money thing. This time it seems as if it is more nefarious. People who claim to be former tutors on the sets of shows are starting their own tutoring programs either at the home of a child or preferably at the home of the tutor with a couple of students. The thing is, a lot of these tutors are not real. They are using the names of actual on set tutors, but are not related to the shows at all. The 80's themed kids show is being name dropped by 20-30 people pretending to be tutors from that show and also trying to convince parents that in addition to tutoring, they will help your son or daughter make connections to land them a role. The crazy thing is, especially with that particular show, it wasn't even filmed in Los Angeles so this scam is being played here and in Atlanta.
