Freida Kahlo and
Frida for the artist
Dolores Del Rio?
Chiquita Banana actress? Forget who that was modeled after Carmen Miranda maybe?
Dolores del RÃo was a Mexican actress of film, television, and theater. With a career spanning more than 50 years, she is regarded as the first major female Latin American crossover star in Hollywood, with an outstanding career in American films in the 1920s and 1930s. Wikipedi
del Rio was married to Orson Welles.
Her first hubby was an art dealer named Cedric Gibbons(worked for studios too)
Cedric Gibbons wasn't an "art dealer". He's the guy who won the most Oscars in history (and he even designed the trophy). As the head of art direction at MGM, he was automatically credited for any of their films. If you see any old movie by MGM, his name is there.
Lupe' Velez was a very early Mexican crossover. Lived a wild life and committed suicide - Dated Gary Cooper, Johnny Weismuller, etc.
Its Dolores Del Rio on Frieda's Who's Dated Who page
So many tangled webs in Old Hollywood!
Angela- Cool extra bit about Cedric Gibbons designing Oscar!
Dolores Del Rio was the main lady and very beautiful. Lupe was too crazy for Hwood. Carmen Miranda was a dance and song lady from Brazil.
My grandfather had a portrait book of all the major stars from Mary Pickford to Liz as a young lady. And Oscar winners too. Really beautiful pictures from what I remember.
Lupe Velez was my first guess
Rita Hayworth
Rita was born in Brooklyn, NY.
had Mexican heritage,
English was the only language she filmed in.Otherwise...
Diego Rivera for the artist
Oops that's Fridas hubby.
Dolores Del Rio. One of the great early Hollywood beauties.
It would have been Dolores' first husband, Mexican socialite Jaime Del Rio. She got a great name out of the marriage.
Yeah, not Lupe Velez, thought that's a great guess. Gotta be DDR.
Rita Moreno is the actress.
I don't think Dolores was married to Orson Welles.
Ramon Navarro
4 year relationship.
Man that Orson Welles bagged some nice ladys. His life story should be called "Aliens and Booty"
Mork calling Orson
Come in Orson.
