DeleteI recently rewatched "pieces of april", an earlyish Katie Holmes vehicle. Charming movie and she was great in it.

ReplyDeleteShe in the Daily Mail a few times a week and the paps are always BackGrid or Splash. Katie no mates is always wandering aimlessly, never with anyone but her prop, Suri.
ReplyDeleteI still find it odd that she can't get hired. There are a zillion TV shows on a zillion streaming services. I'm sure she has alternatives to infomercials.
ReplyDeleteForever kudos to Holmes. She may not be a great actress, but she literally escaped from Scientology. Without saying a word about any of it, she managed to embarrass the "church" in a way few have. She made TC look like an asshole. No small feat, me thinks.

ReplyDeleteSO stupid. Put your feelers out to find the next great small indie and star in it for next to nothing to showcase your acting chops. Even find said type script and then FUND it yourself, as a vehicle. Is it really that hard? Name recognition to gifted newcomers always means something
ReplyDeleteHallmark churns our what seems like hundreds of movies each year. Why can’t she try to land one of those? Seems right up her alley.

ReplyDeleteShe got good money from TC so I seriously doubt that she is suffering financially, or that she has to work to pay the rent, for the rest of her life.
