Blind Item #6
The foreign born A+ list celebrity chef ALL of you know told a friend he has no obligation to pay his staff through the crisis and they should have saved like he did and they would be fine. He has no clue. Privately he also said when things are over, he will be hiring them back at a lower wage, so he can make a larger profit.
ramsey
ReplyDeleteI've always hated that raging Maniac....his show in India was soooo fake!
DeleteKardashian of the culinary world!
Can't stand Ramsey, and never watch any of his shows.
ReplyDeleteMethinks this will make the workers rise up against these corporations. It's there time, frankly. They're overworked, underpaid, treated like shit.
ReplyDeleteEven if they do....there's an army of unskilled and inexperienced labour waiting to work for even lesser! These corporations will simply hire them!
DeleteRamsey nasty self he’s a pompous asshole
ReplyDeleteHe's just nasty. If he ever went off on me like he goes off some of his folks, he'd be on the floor with the handle of a boning knife sticking out of his chest.
ReplyDeleteRamsey's being dragged on Twitter, but what about Colichio? He's a big mouth all the time on Twitter but won't disclose whether or not he's supporting his people...anyway, both of my adult children work as bartenders each at two restaurants. They got emails saying that they will be supported by the restaurants who are applying for the loans/relief in the package just approved by congress. That includes tip wages. Who knows how long it will take to get it, but they both have savings and will be fine. I imagine Ramsey will ask for money from the package for his U.S. restaurants, same for Colichio who slyly wants people to believe he is supporting his employees...maybe he is. He should be considering his holier than thou whining
ReplyDeleteThe resto workers whose employers are applying for the relief will be paid through June
ReplyDeletethere is talk here in vegas that a lot, and i mean a lot of businesses are going to be hiring at lower wages to make a profit. there are so many people out of work and suffering that they will gladly take a job at another company at a lower salary.
ReplyDeleteEvery economic crash people go back to work at lower wages screwing themselves and others because hey, me first!, right? Idiots.
ReplyDeleteI'm not the least bit surprised by that.
ReplyDeleteArgh I feel so bad for restaurant workers. I know our grocery store and Wal-Mart are hiring so maybe they can get temp work. I pray for all the store workers too, exposed to the madness of the public and the germs. Praying this will end soon. I would think Ramsay cares more about his people. I hope this blind isn't true.
ReplyDeleteYou mean, HE'S the donkey?
ReplyDeleteFish gotta swim, birds gotta fly, assholes gotta be assholes...
ReplyDeleteHow can this be? In the Uk since restaurants have had the choice of closing officially, the insurance companies have been taking care fo the workers. Why would it be any different in the US?
ReplyDeleteI know a lot of people that have worked with him specifically and not one has anything bad to say. Not ONE. Nobody was ever talking about being underpaid. It's very possible that some of his managers are treating their staff like crap but I have a very hard time believing it's Ramsay. A lot of you seem to have made character assuptions on him based on his tv persona and nothing else.
ReplyDelete@orangesoda +1. I know a ton of peeps in the biz.. never heard bad things about GR... in fact most people I know who've worked for/with him have mad respect for him, even if they didn't part on perfect terms. He's even gone out of his way to help employees find new jobs if their knucklehead bosses on kitchen nightmares or 24 hrs to hell continue to be assholes. I gotta through Bobby Flay into this mix... I've heard he's a total douche
