This now deceased guy was like the J Edgar Hoover of sports. The secrets he kept are huge, but the one everyone wants is the deal he made with the permanent A++ list athlete to take a break for a couple of years after the gambling scandal that could have taken down the sport for all time.
David Stern/Michael Jordan

Uh... all-time? Doubtful. Jordan would have been banned for life. Being as competitive as he is, and
ReplyDeleteKnowing what he knows now, Jordan if exposed would have surely staged a helicopter crash to ensure his idolatry for an eternity.
This wasn’t a secret. But this is embellishment anyway. The referee scandal didn’t bring the sport down and this wouldn’t have either plus I doubt they would take him off the court for his casino betting. And since he’s an owner now, approved by the league despite his history.
ReplyDeleteRatings have been flat since Jordan retired. Curious what will happen once LeBron retires.

Stern did a lot of shady things though, like the rigged drafts, vetoing the Paul trade, etc.
That is a screen name with a big set of balls attached. LOL. Straight to the point.
DeleteThe yt videos of him around children is vom-inducing. Brazen af.
Lebron’s popularity is nowhere near commensurate with his ability. Even among the African-American fanbase. Plenty of YouTube Bird > Lebron for your viewing pleasure. They friggin kill lebron.
ReplyDeleteThe Greek Freak and kawhi Leonard are currently better players and better ambassadors. Ja Morant will
Be the next big thing. He’s a stud. The NBA will be fine
Once they permit defense to be played again. The league was never more popular than in the late 70s and 80s.
Like every sentence in this is factually false or trolling under the false pretense of even knowing what a 🏀 basketball 🏀 looks like
DeleteThe implication is that this isn't "one time event" information, but that major league sports are all rigged.
ReplyDeleteI remember something coming out about all of soccer being basically rigged. Def got covered up quick because I never saw anything about it again. It’s almost blatant when America plays in the World Cup.
DeleteIf you can bet on it on Vegas, it is rigged. These guys are high-powered actors with insane physical prowess.
ReplyDeleteOT on January 20th Pammie Anderson married Barbra Streisand’s sloppy seconds Jon Peters. On February 1st (today) that marriage is over. Expect blinds tomorrow about Pammie heading back to Assange.
ReplyDeleteLol wow
DeleteEnty, now that it's been revealed that Amber Heard is in fact an abusive POS, please reveal all the nasty blinds you have out there about her. #justiceforjohnny!
ReplyDeleteLook up Isaiah Thomas and the Detroit mob..makes Jordan look like someone who played bridge with his neighbors by comparison. Thomas was so bad at gambling the feds raided his house to get information on the Detroit mob that’s how deep his issues went. What was Jordan doing? Agreeing to win more games? We know Thomas certainly is questionable for games he stunk up without any reason to and if you match games where the odds were greatly in favor or the pistons under his tenure and the ones they lost you’ll see a big pattern there.
ReplyDeleteGo listen to the interviews with Michael Franzese about Jordan. You'll find out the truth.
ReplyDeleteIf there is something to bring down Big Baby LeBron, I am all for it.
ReplyDeleteAt least Stern was smart enough to NOT make the same mistake that MLB made with Pete Rose.
ReplyDeleteJordan's gambling was NOT a secret.
The baseball experiment was cover for suspension of two years from the NBA.
Michael Jordan did a lot of betting. He bet at poker, on the golf course, a regular at casinos, and so on. This was strange because I came from a era when a QB would be suspended because a few suspecious characters was seen at a tavern he co-owned.
ReplyDeleteMany of us thought that having to play baseball for a few years was a cruel, but fair punishment.
This is not a secret, I worked for a network sports department when this went down and we knew then what was happening. In reality, Jordan is a real prick and a very different guy than his teflon persona would suggest.
ReplyDeleteAlso, a lot of people will tell you that his father was killed over Jordan's gambling debts. Michael didn't like to pay up. Angered a lot of unsavory people.
With the loss of up to $200mill in China money and terrible regular season ratings, the NBA salary cap is said to be contracting for the first time next year.
ReplyDeleteThe way sports franchise values have skyrocketed in the past 10yrs, due to an emphasis being put on events people want to watch live, not on DVR, it would be very interesting to see if this is the start of the bubble bursting or just an anomaly.
