Yeah they can keep bringing him back in his role even if he's sitting in a wheelchair, nothing like 77 year old action heroes.
ReplyDeleteReally he’s that arrogant that no one else could play his part..GTFOOH
ReplyDeleteYou’ll never have another Harrison Ford ever again. Talk about a product of a time and place. A lifelong committed door smoker who fell into superstardom because he was doing carpentry for Lucas with a book he borrowed from the library. A man largely ignorant of the forces that buffeted him to superstardom. Is it little wonder his best role was in Blade Runner, a character who doesn’t even know if he’s human or not.
ReplyDeleteDope smoker. Friggin Apple.
DeleteLol derp, I was so confused for a moment...
Delete“It’s not the years, honey, it’s the mileage.” from Raiders of the Lost Ark
ReplyDeleteRiver Phoenix was perfect as a replacement but...
ReplyDeleteBut John Frusciante killed him with that lethal dose & Def American covered it up. Ooops....Shhhh.
DeleteApparently, "door smoker" is a real thing.

Wow! I want one...you Americans have the coolest stuff!

ReplyDeleteSh!t, they don't have real men action actors like Ford or Willis or Keanu or Gibson or Eastwood anymore, now it's all twinks and gym rats.
ReplyDeleteUm...did u throw Keanuu in the "manly"action hero category? Its called make believe movies 4 a reason. When the 90s club kid craze happened in NY, lemme tell u honey-the twinks coming out his apartment the next day in their wobbly walk of shame, were cuter than him.
Delete*blocking my ears* LALALALALA, "Keanu is straight keanu is straight keanu is straight "
DeleteSorry, can’t stand him. Never got his appeal.
ReplyDeleteNobody wants anyone else to play Indiana Jones. Come on.
ReplyDeleteIt was a bit different when they did The Young Indiana Jones because that was taking place decades before his character went after the Ark. It would not have been logical to expect Ford to play himself as a kid.
It's time for the "it's not fair! everyone should get a shot at playing iconic legendary characters" mentality to end. Enough.
@Simon, I totally agree, but that said, I really don't think anyone could truly embody Indy or Hans Solo better than he does. I also hate remakes and reboots.
ReplyDeleteHe's trying to protect his legacy. With all the rebooting going on I can see him not wanting to be associated with some shit show movies.
ReplyDeleteHe plays a character. It's like someone saying no one else can ever play Hamlet.
Delete@Simon, Just google his cheating and flying as a pilot, not sure which one is worse. Like how he cheated on his wife with a drunken 19 year old Carrie Fisher vs nearly flying into an airliner.

I just hope it is better than the last one.
ReplyDeleteHow can a man Married to ally mcbeal be so insecure!
ReplyDeleteApparently, he disliked the Han Solo stand alone film so bad, he's against any attempt to reboot the Indy series.
ReplyDeleteOf course they won't keep that promise. Long live HF but the dude has to die SOME time and probably just in time for a re-boot and for the old man playing Indie days to have faded.
ReplyDelete@ Do tell well I am sure it would be a young reboot or re-imagining of the series. You think they are going to cast someone even OLDER than HF in the role of IJ?
@Karma, I said real men action actors, you're the one that said "manly." Don't care what they f*ck as long as it's legal, and if the most interesting thing about you is what you fuck, then you must not be that interesting. ;)
ReplyDeleteExcept if you're a necrophiliac, that's probably going to be the headline every time.
No I'm talking actors who can play somewhat average guys stuck in f*cked up situations, not professional athletes or pretty boys. They've got character and you're pulling for them as underdogs.
But if you want to beat the Keanu drum like he's replaceable, then tell me this, who is going to be the next Keanu? I don't see any contenders.
ReplyDelete+1@Brayson @ 11:57. There’s nobody that I can think of.

ReplyDeleteDuring the original Raiders of the Lost Ark story meetings, George Lucas proposed that Indy "could have known this little girl when she was just a kid. Had an affair with her when she was 11." After Steven Spielberg protested, Lucas decided that "15 is right on the edge... Once she's 16 or 17, it's not interesting anymore."
In the official Raiders of the Lost Ark novelization, Marion is 15 when Indy starts sleeping with her, and he ditches her a year or two later. In the movie, Marion claims that she was "a child" during the affair, and Indiana doesn't deny it. Given the background information, it's easy to read between the lines: Indiana Jones slept with an underage girl, and we're supposed to shrug it off like it's no big deal.
A little surprised this crowd is defending him like this
DeleteWe really need a scorecard Rosie. It’s easier to just assume That everyone involved in entertainment industry is a friggin pervert
ReplyDelete@Rosie.
ReplyDeleteIn Lucas' American Grafitti they ditch the 11 year old younger sister they're meant to be minding by forcing her for the night on Harrison Ford's character who expresses disappointment because he wanted someone a bit older, but takes her anyway.
I wonder if he'll let Shia Labeouf be in the next Indiana Jones movie again. Maybe he made that rule since that 4th installment got so many bad reviews.
ReplyDeleteMark Wahlberg would make a hot IJ. But NOT Ryan Reynolds...
ReplyDeleteYes. But on this site, "tiny-handed" "men" drool in idolatry of misogynist man love.
ReplyDeleteI don't care who diddles who, as long as everyone is an adult and consenting. That stated, whoever the actor is that replaces HF...they have to get someone with a sense of humor. That's half the appeal. I can actually see Ryan Reynolds doing it (sorry!), as long as he doesn't make a cartoon of the character. As for Keanu...I can see him being fluid and don't care one bit. His sexiest point to date for me was the original "Speed". Other than that, I don't care one way or another if he IS gay, plays gay, pretends straight, dates both sides....it's a movie.
ReplyDeletewhen you really look at what happened to Corey Haim , the only permanent A list globally known movie star/family man that adds up to the timeline is Harrison Ford
ReplyDelete@ Rosie riveter
ReplyDeletei think that was Shia La Beouf on Reddit AMA
