Blind Item #8 - “Fools Gold” - an Intercerebellar blind item
Once upon a time, at a party he was hosting, he decided to play one of the many gold records he had. Upon removing it from its frame, placing it on the turntable and dropping the needle, he was surprised to say the least. What he heard was not his own album, but one by this 1950s rock legend who belonged to the same label.

Damn, I read it as INTERSTELLAR blind, and thought to myself, finally!
John Denver and Elvis
This is not a blind or anything new. Pretty much every gold or silver record handed to stars for selling truckloads of records are not the record they are being rewarded for. One of my favourite punk/new wave bands from the late 1970s early 1980s (The Jam) also played one of their gold records once and it turned out to be an ABBA record. Why you thought writing this "blind" would be interesting or worthy of writing is beyond me.
Waylon Jennings and Elvis For RCA record label?
maybe it's interesting to those of us that don't know everything like yourself.
Johnny Cash and Elvis Sun Records.
+1....
John Denver and Chuck Berry, RCA
I find it interesting
Or we could have another Justin Bieber is a meth head blind, cause no one knows about that.
I find it interesting. As much of a music buff that I am, I didn't know about this.
I had no idea. Why would it not be the band's record? I am off to google.
I had no idea that gold records were real records that could be played. Are they at least real gold that can be pawned?
The winner of the gold record didn't know -- why you think anyone else would know is beyond me.
I had no clue! I thought they were replicas of real records & made out of gold.
Destroys you stylus also.
Of think this is very interesting! I did not realize they were playable. I guess I'm just not as knowledgeable about boring insider information
Amen SquirrelMistress!! LOL!!!
Yeah, Virgil is a genius.
It was Marvin Gaye that took his record down to play and it was a record of The Supremes also Smokey Robinson said that he rubbed the gold record to only find out it was spray painted gold
I'm with @Squirrel too.
Very cool info.
I never thought gold records would be playable.
@Miss Jammy, I wonder how many "Gold records" are actually made of gold. Poor Smokey.
Thanks for an interesting blind Enty.
+1
Think of it more like an interesting and fun guessing game. Just harmless gossip.
Not everything posted here is going to be about crackheads, violence, and pedos.
@squirrelmistress
EXACTLY
@virgilhilts
If this were reddit, I would give you a downvote for acting like a know it all who thinks they speak for everyone here.
This is Lee Greenwood - a number of gold records, and also sang "Fools Gold." Good title.
