Jared Leto and Birds of prey
Jared Leto.
Margot Robbie didn't want him in it. A better script would have helped.
Saw his pic with Liam Hemsworth...looks like a twig!!!
Looking forward to when people look back at the tsunami of comic-book movies and ask 'wtf were they thinking?'
Exactly, I mean where is HE-MAN, CROW, MIDNIGHTER, SPAWN, THE SPIRIT? Bring them on the big screen!
Birds of Prey RT score is actually much better than expected
Going to see it tonight. Not really holding out any hopes for it to be good, but I don't think Leto would help.
It wouldn't make sense for Leto to play the Joker so soon after Joaquin Phoenix nailed it
Made things perfect? LMAO it must be KILLING him that JP is tearing it up award season and skipped right over his performance to Heath Ledger's in JP acceptance speech at the Globes.
Also, Birds of Prey is bombing all on its own. I am stealing this from a DM comment , but, the previews were super cringe in that it reminded you or a "girl power/ beating up on men" music video like Bad Blood or that Charlie's Angels song this past summer with Miley and Ariana. It is forgetting who your target audience for superhero movies 101. Get woke.....lol
Also, Robbie has some great supporting roles, but, the only movie Margot Robbie truly starred in and made a lot money in was I, Tonya and that was produced on a relatively small budget of $11 million. She had the Mary Queen of Scotts but Saorise always seems to outshine the other ladies in a movie.
I've heard some pretty devastating reviews, but not one of them has mentioned how it would have been much better if only Leto's Joker had made an appearance. In fact, some are saying that's the only good thing about the movie...Leto's not in it.
I have not seen it but IMHO a little of Robie's Harley Quinn goes a long way. It's a character that was meant for small doses, not an entire movie. Apparently the other "Birds of Prey" are only in the final 20 minutes or so. The rest of it is Harley eating aerosol cheese and maiming men because all men are assholes, etc. Yawn.
YES do The Authority or Planetary!
The previews looked corny and if the previews are bad, then I don't have much hope for the movie itself. Will wait for it to come out on HBO/Showtime.
Isn't the whole point of this movie the bad breakup and women can fend for themselves and grrrl power? Jared Leto is supposed to swoop in and what, rescue Harley? Beat the bad guys himself? Please.
That said, those trailers were awful and I felt I already saw the entire movie in just those few unpleasant minutes.
I’m sure his film Morbius is just going to be breaking records! Except not, LOL
When is this tool (& his brother) going to be exposed for sexually assaulting underage girls at TSTM concerts for years and years?
According to IMDB he as Joker is to be in the next Harley Quinn movie. So this may be true.
IMDB can be edited by anyone. Don't take anything there as fact unless it's been officially announced.
ironic that jared preys on people
He's a massive POS but he's right. In fact they should have made it a Harley/Joker stand-alone.
None of us who love the DC movies wanted this creepy fuck/shitty actor back as The Joker and damn, I saw Birds Of Prey yesterday and loved the hell out of it.
I was asked which I enjoyed more, Joker or BOP and I had to go with BOP because of how much fun it was, compared to Joker being pretty much the Joaquin Phoenix show (much like how The Dark Knight is shit if Heath Ledger isn't in it).
Lemme guess, the "critics" mauling it probably loved those shitty Marvel movies, right? No accounting for taste, really (finally saw Endgame around Christmas time and it was a waste of three hours, so bad).
mauling? hardly
There was a movie about the Spirit years ago. It had Scarlett Johanson and Samuel Jackson in it. It was OK, but not as good as the Phantom movie. I think I am the only one to see it.
I saw BOP and thought it was a really fun ride. They were all great in it and JL would have ruined it.
Had Jared Leto been in Birds Of Prey I doubt He would have been able to save The Film that much.
However with that being said I do think had He had Cameo Role in The Film it might of in the end had brought a bit more publicity for The Film that was very much needed.
BOP hasn't had a critical mauling at *all*. especially not compared to the one he WAS in
it's bombing hard at the box office, though. but that probs has more to do with the frankly abysmal trailer and marketing.
I think you're right Simon. It's not a terrible film but was marketed like John Carter.
The movie is not bombing hard lmao the movie made their budget 80/90 in one weekend, It could be "better" Yes but the movie is r rated, small budget and female pack action.
