Blind Item #4
If this recent Oscar nominated director does land the superhero gig people are buzzing about, it wouldn't last more than a few weeks. The director has an ego that is matched only by the A+ list actor he would be directing. It would be a horrible fit and a waste of money and time.
Todd Phillips?
ReplyDeleteTaika Waititi/Deadpool 3/ Ryan Reynolds
ReplyDeleteIs he rumored to direct another? Maybe Whalberg for actir or Ryan Reynolds
ReplyDeleteTaika Waititi?
ReplyDeleteHe oozes smug prick...
ReplyDeleteHe is. And he got into it with Jermaine Clement(former BF and collaborated on a few projects)...really arrogant.
ReplyDeleteWaititi and Christian Bale

ReplyDeleteSam Raimi and Dr. Strange?
ReplyDeleteCan't be Taika cuz he's about to shoot Thor 4 in Australia. Gotta be Phillips but I hadn't heard he's getting another Superhero gig
ReplyDeleteAnd while I can see Taika having an ego I can't think it's huge considering all the leeway he gives his actors with improv.
Def Taika
ReplyDeleteYep Thor 4 with Christian Bale as --Beta Ray Bill I think ?
ReplyDeleteWaititi does good work, he wouldn't have a problem finishing a film.
ReplyDeleteActually, I've heard very nice things about Taika. Sure, like most directors, he's got an ego on him, but from what's been filtered through the grapevine (and it's limited), he's someone who really tries to make his actors comfortable and who genuinely is passionate about what he's doing.
ReplyDeleteAgree completely, Fresh Prince
DeleteSeconded 👍🏼
Delete"It would be a horrible fit and a waste of money and time"
ReplyDeleteLike that will stop them.
Taika Waititi already has a Superhero gig, Thor, he was also reported being lined up for a Star Wars movie. Deadpool is Reynolds baby and he picks the director.
ReplyDeleteI'm just sad that they didn't take the opportunity to name the next Thor movie Thor 4: More Thor!
ReplyDelete😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Delete🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
DeleteI don't think its Taika. He is an oscar winner, not just a nominee. I bet its Todd Phillips.
ReplyDeleteTaika and Christian. Natalie is no picnic either. She really needs this. All her movies have been bombs lately. Big egos on that set.
ReplyDeleteHaha, So Christian Bale is getting on his knees to suck off Mickey so he can get some of that sweet sweet Marvel money, how low the Dark Night has fallen. Hey DC, your most popular hero actor is blowing your competitor because you're awful! The best thing Warner Bros or AT&T or whoever owns DC this week could do would be to sell DC to Disney. At least they'd make guaranteed money instead of the shit show gamble they take with every current DC movie.
ReplyDeleteThere was talk of Tarantino directing a Star Wars or Star Trek film, and he did win Best Original Screenplay (honestly I’m shocked he hasn’t won Best Director yet).
ReplyDeleteBut I can’t think of the big ego actor who would be that high on the list in those films. @tricia13 interesting, I hadn’t heard bad things about Taika...but I *have* heard that Clement developed a big ego post-Chords. That movie of his after that was supposed to be a nightmare to work on...
All of this SOUNDS like the Deadpool sequel bc of Ryan Reynolds famous insufferable presence who has the most undeserved ego I’ve ever witnessed. He’s the type of guy who is unattractive in the face so he’s figured why not compensate w/some form of mean wit/jokes. He isn’t that good of an actor. He uses his sense of humor (some which is clever, let’s not pretend it’s not). I don’t know who the director would be - Todd Phillips sounds about right tho. Both douchebags whose high self-worth is a sad contrast to their reality. It always is sparked in the beginning w/deep insecurity, which makes them dedicated to overcompensating for life. I would love to see those two explode at each other, talk about a great fight lol
Fun fact, Taika Waititi's real name is David Cohen.

What's with all the Taika guesses and hate? You will never find a guy who is more liked by cast and crew than him. Seriously. I know a dozen people who worked with him in Toronto and they'd take a bullet for the guy based on how he treated them and everybody surrounding him. Extremely generous with his time, connections and advice.
