I wonder if the alliterate permanent A lister will ever discuss the things she did with her husband to women he would bring to his home country under the guise of employment.
The Saudis treat third world nationals horribly. There have been multiple articles about how women are lured through appealing advertisements to come there to work as household staff and are then treated like poorly paid slaves and are abused in all ways.
When I was stationed in Saudi Arabia years ago there were TWNs working on our base who were contracted through Saudi Arabia. Troops ended up donating clothes and things to them because they were so badly compensated and the facilities they lived in were not good. It's such a wealthy nation, you'd think things would be better.
Having almost been killed by an attack sponsored by Iran that did kill 19 other people, I don't find anyone who sides with them less guilty. They've been kidnapping Americans for decades.
Try living a life that is wholly nondependent on oil. No car, no public transit, no electricity, which requires oil to produce it, no planes, no trains, no central climate control, no fans, no refrigeration. Then get on your high horse about oil.
Solar is a start and so are other natural resources. Its sad when people excuse rich foreigners from bad behavior. On Rodeo drive last year, ME fellows drag racing their expensive cars with total disregard to shoppers. Rich Saudi in mansion in BH had sexually assaulted much of his staff(male and female) held them against their will and absconded after being caught. Tons of drugs, porn and filthy conditions inside. Most of 911 were Saudis but hey we need the oil.
Did Janet Jackson do to her young female Middle Eastern house slaves what Daddy Joe Jackson did to his daughters? Disgusting family full of nasty secrets to this day. I watched Joe parade his mistress all around openly on the Victory Tour..TRUTH.
Many years ago, I went to a very high end restaurant. A lot of celebrities were there. And, a Saudi prince. His bodyguard approached me. Offered me a lot of money to go yachting with him (and take my friends) on a boat. This was way before I knew what "yachting" meant. He said he was serious about making me a wife. LOL. Anyway, I had a boyfriend (now my husband) and regardless I turned him down (would have anyway). He (bodyguard) found out my number from someone and gave it to the Prince. "They" were calling me nonstop and sending me presents and gifts at work (no clue how they found it where I worked, although I did say I was a teacher). Anyway, the Prince was trying to woo me and the bodyguard told me not to do it. He was worried and said it was a bad thing. A lot of girls, he told me, would go yachting and leave to their country and never return. It was so crazy...a lot of craziness.
Janet Jackson?
ReplyDeleteWhen it suits her, she will come out as a victim in all this, if this blind is true!

Nothing says empowerment like marrying some Saudi guy for $$.

ReplyDeleteHer ex-husband is from Quatar, not Saudi-Arabia.

DeleteI love oil and everything that comes with it. I want the gas prices to come down. +1000 to fracking.
ReplyDeleteJesus, you obviously don't know much about fracking and the damage it causes.

ReplyDeletePlastic, plastic wrap for your food, plastic for painting, etc. is all from oil.

ReplyDeleteLissette - that sounds scary! Glad you stayed safe! The UAE is a terrifying medieval human rights black hole... I won't even fly through Dubai.
