Blind Item #10 - Oscars
This foreign born permanent A++ list singer says that he is the reason the one named rapper performed last night. Do I think the one named rapper called? Yes. More than that? Maybe.

Elton John/eminem
ReplyDeleteElton John
ReplyDeleteEminem's performance was very awkward...
ReplyDeleteI didn’t watch. Why was Eminem performing his old song?
ReplyDeleteI thought so too, but I thought he looked good(healthier).it was random though
ReplyDeleteClone.
DeleteIt followed a montage of famous songs that considerably added to the movies. Purple Rain, Footloose etc. Eminem won an Oscar for that song so not totally random. The surprise was pretty good.
DeleteWhat was more surprising was that Elton won for his very crappy song while Cynthia Erivo did not.
Fix was in.
Is this BI implying that Elton John and Eminem hooked up? Really?
ReplyDeleteI have never enjoyed any of Eminem's 'music' it blows.
ReplyDeleteAgreed Tricia.
ReplyDeleteIt made no sense why it was done last night.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand what is this insinuating?
ReplyDeleteI think Eminem asking Elton for a favor is a big deal in itself and maybe even begged...I think that's what the more than that means
ReplyDeleteEm has been homophobic in the past and no longer is.
ReplyDeleteElton and Eminem have a weird friendship going on, and have for years, but I don't think it's any more than that.
ReplyDeleteEminem gave Elton a diamond encrusted cock-ring as a birthday present. Enty is inferring our previously homophobic rapper might not be completely straight. Just like his mentor Dr Dre.
ReplyDeleteSeeing him blew my mind last night but I guess he has an album to sell . Best part of the whole night.
ReplyDeleteClearly it worked in his favor. A 17 year old song is #1 on iTunes this morning.
ReplyDeleteAnd it was an awesome surprise.
I fucking LOVE Eminem.
ReplyDeleteThe Marshall Mathers LP remains one of my favorites of all time. There are a few songs I have to skip, but there are a good 6 on it I LOVE!
I thought it was common knowledge that the ones who protest the most & loudest are usually the most guilty (i.e. Marshall Mathers extreme homophobic diatribes in the past likely means he is one himself or was made to be one in order to get were he got and is uncomfortable with that fact)
ReplyDeleteBTW, if anyone thought that was M&M at his most uncomfortable, search internet for his broadcast booth box interview with Brent Musberger at a U of M game a few years back, at the height of his fame...was the most awkward thing I've ever seen on live TV!
ReplyDeleteIt was odd to have that song performed when it was so many years old. I know Elton and Eminem performed Stan at the Grammys years ago, so this connection makes sense. But it really bugs me that because of nonsensical inclusions like "Hey let's have a live performance of a sing that won YEARS AGO", they don't have time to include everyone who should be included in In Memoriam, for example.
ReplyDeleteBut it was funny to watch the audience reactions and see how the reactions appeared to be split along racial and age lines. A good deal of the older, white audience members that were shown had either zero or irritated expressions on their faces.
You might be irritated if you had to sit through hours of droning speeches. These awards can be tedious as hell. Em's noisy and not everyone's cup of tea.
Delete*song
ReplyDeleteElton John is Eminem's sober mentor, or whatever they are called. I doubt that buddies of that level of intimacy would request sexual quid pro quos.
ReplyDeleteRe. Eminem's sexuality: he stated to nymag/vulture a while back that he uses Grinder. The interviewer was like "You mean Tinder..." and he was like, "no, grinder."
And maybe he's bi or whatever, and who cares? If more people could just let it go, I'm sure there would be way less homophobia.
I also don't think that "more than that" has any sexual connotations in this case. I think it insinuates that Elton and Eminem had sort of quid pro quo, maybe that Eminem would do something for Elton's charity in return.
ReplyDeleteYeah, bcs Eminem does not need to be begging Elt, or anyone else, for sexual favours to perform. Or breathe. The idea is patently ludicrous. That said, I've always fully believed the gorilla on Em's back is a giant closet. Him joking about and courting it these days is quite a big step for him.
DeleteOh please, Elton John has always had a delusionally high opinion of himself, but there's no way Eminem is tapping that wrinkled a$$.
ReplyDelete😃🍺💊😴...
ReplyDeleteIn 2003 when Lose Yourself won, he was not asked to perform at the show and didn't go to the ceremony. He tweeted something about second chances. I, personally, was blown away by the performance...bout peed myself.

ReplyDeleteCynthia Erivo was beyond fantastic. The rest of the show was really dull except for a couple of Steve Martin's quips about Brad Pitt like looking in the mirror and the Iowa Caucus App reference. Loved Salma Hayek's gown and Oscar Issac was to die for just to look at. Congrats to Parasite team. The rest....BOOORING.
The rest of the music was horrid. His was the only good, upbeat music. Love him.
ReplyDeleteWoke Eminem is tedious
ReplyDeleteReally now it's Em's time to be gay. Please! And I doubt he would be begging anyone to perform at the oscars or anywhere for that matter.
