Empire Strikes Back!
The Empire Strikes Back
Never watched one second of any one of them.
none. in fact i tracked the theater manager down and got my money back for the original star wars back in 77. crap enterprise all the way around.
Original Star Wars
None.
Definitely at least the original trilogy all around. Neither Lucas nor Disney could improve upon them, although Rogue One was really close.
The original trilogy without the "updates".
Im behind with the latest two, but Empire Strikes Back.
@cheese, Han Shot First! :)
None of them. I did enjoy Space Balls.
Granted, I wasn’t even born when the films first came out. I was a child when I saw SW on tv. But I understood the Star Trek films when I was a kid.
I really need someone to explain the entire plot to me as though I am five years old. I am serious.
The unenhanced Original Trilogy, specifically The Empire Strikes Back
@MyDogSmiles
In my opinion you aren’t missing anything.

@T.W., Beat it Trekkie if you aren't going to play nice, you don't see us trashing the Federation. ;)
@T.W. I figured...
@Brayson87 - ha ha ha!
But seriously, I do not understand Star Wars. Well, I know they are fighting...
Never seen Star Wars...or Star Trek for that matter!
TBF, the enhanced Empire is better than the original. It only clears up the Hoth SFX and gives a better look at Bespin. No Gredo shooting first or getting rid of the 'Yub-nub' song.
@T.W., Oppressive galactic govt led by two evil mystic warriors, a rebellion against the govt joined by a young farm boy/pilot with his own burgeoning mystic abilities. Weapon of choice by mystics is a plasma sword. Space magic yes, but Star Trek has tons of that too.
The original, first one.
Always New Hope. Return of the Jedi second.
Empire Strikes Back by FAR!!!!
@Brayson87
That’s all??? I knew I wasn’t missing anything.
I agree, SW & ST have some mystic/occult/religious undertones.
I do know Gene Roddenberry intended Star Trek to be a morality play that provides social commentary. So at least that redeems the Trek franchise.
I just finished Episodes I-III. I can't believe no one told King George his scripts were god awful and his casting for Anakin was all wrong. That being said, ESB and Rogue I were a lot of fun.
As a kid, Return of the Jedi.
As an adult, Empire Strikes Back.
@T.W., I gave you the simplest explanation possible, you said you wanted someone to explain it to you as though you were five years old.
For Star Trek I'd just say something like, "Socialist space fantasy, with a strangely large number of Federation colonies for non-imperialists." Like when has colonialism not been associated with bad things?
You can't handle the truth, The Federation is the real Borg! 😂
Saw the first one as a little kid, and liked it. Saw the next two, didn't like them at all. Haven't seen one since, and don't plan on it in the future.
The original trilogy minus the cute Ewok adventures. The original had a profound effect on me as up until that point - i was a kid - I was only allowed to see kids movies at the theater and Star Wars blew me away.
Empire Strikes Back was directed by a real director.
George might have a great imagination, but the original Star Wars: A New Hope was horrible -- even though it was a blockbuster.
Now, my favorite is Rogue One.
Hardware Wars
+1 Gerard, Hardward Wars was way ahead of its time in 1978, Space Balls was such a ripoff. Ham Salad, ace mercenary pilot 😅
O/T I saw Hardware Wars on the big screen! It was paired with the release of Life Of Brian, and stood its ground ...
Empire Strikes Back because it was the final Star Wars movie I saw. Gave hubby an ultimatum for every sci fi movie he forced me to sit through I would return the favor. That terrified the old boy. After that he went with his buddies and I enjoyed the peace and quiet.
Empire Strikes Back. I really enjoyed Rogue one too. I am going to pretend that the latest triligy did not happen, though I think that Daisy Ridley was generally wasted on terrible plots. On the other hand maybe I should actually see the Last Skywalker before writing it off completely.
You should see rise of skywalker, but it is jumbled garbage.
With the first 6 movies being all about Vader, to throw a bimbo in from leftfield and make her go fromn0-100 in 2 seconds with force abilities was just nonsense. This last trilogy had zero planning done for it aside from an obvious demand for a mary sue.
Empire Strikes Back.
A New Hope. I really just came here to see if anyone would post the POS last two installments. None did, and this renews my faith in CDANers.
A New Hope.
Uh...I remember thinking those Ewoks were pretty cute back in the day...is that the third/sixth one?
None of them as near as much as I liked Red Letter Media's brilliant review of The Phantom Menace:

@Brayson87
Thanks
My dad took me to the first Star Wars for my birthday. He passed away before Thanksgiving, and we took my daughter to the last Stars Wars for Christmas. It was very surreal for me.
THE ORIGINAL IS THE ONLY MASTERPIECE
Empire.
Blasphemy!
Clerks rules!
i never enjoyed Star Wars;
but I appreciate George Lucas getting us ready for the alien presence.
it ended in 1984!
