Blind Item #8 - Reader Blind Item

This permanent A+ Oscar winning actor/ Oscar nominated actor who is now retired had an unusual pastime at his peak.

He had built under his house a boxing ring surrounded by an amphitheater.  He would bring in groups of friends to fight and to watch and to bet and the winners would take home the cash. Sometimes, the actor himself, who is known to enjoy a fistfight, would step into the ring. He never lost a brawl.

  1. I can't see Nicholson or Hackman in a fistfight.

  6. O/T, for anyone who ever followed soaps, and even if you don't, Sarah Joy Brown used to be a pretty popular actress in the genre. She also has a very bizarre story that she is trying to get out to the public regarding her ex husband, Shuki Levi, who is a producer and ran Saban Entertainment for years. He was extremely abusive to her, controlling and has some very powerful connections. You can look up her Twitter feed @sarahjoybrown, but she also posted a 20 minute interview on YouTube today where she goes into great detail about this guy. I listened to it and it is really alarming stuff. Well worth listening to.

  7. Good guesses but I think it’s Richard Burton .

  8. @Do Tell, What's the gist of it?

  9. @La Morena, Yeah Enty usually describes Kirk as more of a dirtbag.

  10. Richard Burton is dead ,not retired.... though that’s one way to put it lol

  11. He installed surveillance in her home w/o her knowledge, committed parental abduction of their daughter, torched her home and nearly killed her (I think it was her home, I missed that part.) His business partner has Clinton/Obama connections. She feels she was fired from a Days of Our Lives job because of her husband. She also feels his connections are why he has never been held legally accountable.

  12. Sean Connery. He loves a one-sided fistfight with his wife.

  13. Her husband also sexually assaulted her in public in front of VIPS including Bill Clinton. Like I said, bizarre story.

  27. LOVE, LOVE Sarah Brown as Carly back in the day when I still watched GH (all her scenes are online btws, she is a very good actress). Thanks for sharing. Scary stuff. Last time I heard she had quit acting because she was so fed up with the business.

  28. Richard Burton let drink get in the way of physical prowess and was never a good scrapper after 30. He died from a brain injury suffered when he picked a verbal argument with a younger chap in a Swiss bar, got pasted and struck his head on the floor. It was covered up so the body could be released and the estate settled quickly.

  29. Isn't an amphitheatre an open air venue? How does one have an open air venue beneath their house? Wouldn't it then be enclosed?

  30. Not sure about permanent A+ status but this sounds like something Mickey Rourke would do... He was a pretty decent boxer back in the day

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hackman. Jack is no fighter.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Would have been cooler if it was 2 skanks and a Crack Rock on a Pole wrasslin match.

  33. A lot of those old timey H'wood guys were serious boxers. Legend tells of a brutal drunken duel between Errol Flynn and John Houston that ended in a stalemate.

  34. I'll go with the Micky Rourke guess. I don't think he's permanent A+, but he was a boxer.

If we're sticking to older dudes who are still alive, how about Clint Eastwood?

If we're sticking to older dudes who are dead, how about John Wayne? Not sure about the Oscar bit for him.

    Clark Gable?

  35. @Tricia13 THE PAINTED VEIL is good for one viewing. :)

  36. Another old dude who's dead, how about Marlon Brando pre-tubness? Hell, let's throw in Elvis for good measure. This blind could literally be anyone.
