Blind Item #31 - Golden Globes
This permanent A list mostly movie actress who is a multiple Oscar nominee/winner said that over the weekend she was out of town with a married A- list director doing some press and wouldn't stop hitting on the actress. It makes things super awkward because they are doing the award thing together.
Nicole Kidman/Jay Roach?
ReplyDeleteMargot Robbie and Quentin Tarrantino. His wife is in Israel.
ReplyDeleteI don't think she is a permanent A lister
DeleteAnd QT is definitely not A-
DeleteMR was draped all over QT when they were on stage!

ReplyDeleteApologies for off-topic comment... but after last night, I propose that from here forward the Golden Globes should be retitled as the Salma Hayeks.
ReplyDeleteMargot was ALL over quentin.
ReplyDeleteEw.
DeleteMax- LOL!😂
ReplyDeleteThanks for a fabulous Post Golden Globes extravaganza, Enty! So many great blinds...I cant wait for some of these reveals!
ReplyDeleteBTW, this is last minute, bc it starts in 38 minutes, at 8pm EST, but for those of you into Old Hollywood, TCM is airing a special on Mary Astor's Diaries. She had a sex scandal back in the 30's that was HUGELY scandalous, She was a well established star at the time and it almost destroyed her. Should be pretty interesting stuff.
ReplyDeleteThanks "Do Tell". I happened to see that earlier too, I was just watching an old Bette Davis film on tCM and made sure to DVR it. It's showing two times this evening.
ReplyDeleteI adore Mary Astor in Doddsworth (one of my FAV films-you've probably seen it but if not you'll thank me!!I like to be thanked with jewels please!)
She's incredibly sweet and beautiful in that film. I've seen Return to Peton Place a bunch of times and I never recognized her in that. It was filmed about 20 years after Doddworth in the early 30's and she looks much older. I read up on her a few years ago and her really nasty divorce so it will be interesting to hear the full story. If I recall correctly, her husband's divorce attorney was able to subpoena her diaries in divorce court and it was published by the papers. What a freaken nightmare. Divorce sucks and is hard enough without the whole world reading your private thoughts! I can't even imagine.
Sorry, I'm celebrating something and I'm a bit high and rambling! Cheers.
Kidman/Roach Bombshell
ReplyDelete*makes note* I'll check it out, thanks SlimKeith!
ReplyDeleteUnless he's radically changed from the old days, this is NOT Jay Roach
ReplyDeleteAnd @Slim, based on your nom de plume and interest in Old Hollywood, I assume you're a fan of the Swans?
ReplyDeleteScarjo and Noah Baumbach
ReplyDeleteDo you all actually read the blinds? It's all nonsense of course, but Robbie has 1 nomination, and 0 Oscars. So this is not about her.
ReplyDeleteMeryl Streep? I'm not sure if ScarJo is permanent A-list yet.
ReplyDeleteThe only ones this could possibly be is Theron or Kidman. Robbie and Scarjo don't meet the criteria laid out in the blind.
ReplyDeleteDirectors, like producers, seem to tend to be scumbags.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the above posters, not Robbie, she was all over Tarantino all night.
ReplyDeleteTheron and Robbie would be “foreign born”. I’m not sure if Nicole would considered American or Australian here.
