Blind Item #12 - Reader Blind
This influential foreign born mostly retired A+ musician who is considered a virtuoso on his particular instrument has long had a problem with violence towards women.
His physical abuse of both romantic partners and groupies is well known and documented in at least one ex’s book.
But it wasn’t just women he was sleeping with. Over the years it escalated to a point where the musician would punch random autograph seekers or any woman who approached him. He usually aimed for the head or the face.
On the farewell tour of this “dark” band which was his claim to fame, after a couple of lawsuits, the musician had assigned to him a handler who kept him away from female fans.

ReplyDeleteIs Tony Iommi retired out of Black Sabbath?
ReplyDeleteGlenn Hughes/Black Sabbath?
ReplyDeleteRobert isn't a musician. A singer, yes, but not a musician.
ReplyDeleteGeezer Butler of Black Sabbath?
Iommi seems to be retired mostly due to sickness.
ReplyDeletegeezer has a new band he plays with Deadland Ritual I believe
ReplyDeleteOzzy
ReplyDeletebut if that's correct---Black Sabbath member not named Ozzy---then that makes this a poor reader blind.
ReplyDeleteThe status of the person referred to in the blind (however cool or great he was as a musician is irrelevant) is in error would not be A+...
Thank goodness we have smartphones to document everything nowadays since the law didn't seem concerned.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like clapton
ReplyDeleteTony Iommi, sadly.
ReplyDeleteLita Ford made claims in a book about Tommy Iommi behind violent towards her. She claimed it was drugs and also that his father contributed toward making his son violent to women.
ReplyDeletehttps://search.blabbermouth.net/news/lita-ford-doesnt-regret-including-tony-iommi-abuse-accusations-in-her-book/
I was thinking Jimmy Page from Led Zep. Pamela Des Barres said he was into S/M and probably worse...
ReplyDeleteclapton.
ReplyDeletehe was violent as fuck and in one groupie-turned-roadie for the rolling stones book, she said clapton chased her around the house while high on heroin.
i can't remember her name. she also dated leon russell for a while.
chased her around the house WITH A KNIFE, may i add
ReplyDeleteEddie Van Halen. Guitar genius. Valerie Bertinelli wrote a book. I don't think she mentioned violence, though idk.
ReplyDeleteJimmy Page?
ReplyDeleteI think Jimmy Page is Monster Icon. There was a mention of Page on Entys twitter just a couple of days after the original post without a direct link. It fits.
ReplyDeleteEddie Van Halen isn't foreign born, you idiot.
ReplyDeleteCalm down.
DeleteYes, he is
ReplyDeleteEddie Van Halen was born in the Netherlands you idiot.
ReplyDeleteEddie Van Halen was born in Amsterdam, you idiot.
ReplyDeleteKenny G
ReplyDeleteIt's a little known fact that both Van Halen brothers were born in Amsterdam and their family moved here when they were young.
ReplyDeleteBut this is clearly not Van Halen.
ReplyDeleteJimmy Page .
ReplyDeleteIf it is Page, isn't he a skinny semi-pipsqueak? One good punch from a regular sized woman could probably knock him out. He must rely on the element of surprise
ReplyDeleteIt's either Iommi or Page, both have documented violence towards women in their pasts.
ReplyDeleteThe description doesn't fit Clapton,he is more famous outside his bands. Tommy Iommi fits because of the "dark" band. I think what is said about Clapton is true, but not since he has been sober. The person mentioned was part of a retirement tour.
ReplyDeleteCan't be Page. There was never a "farewell tour" with Zeppelin. It just stopped when Bonham passed away.
ReplyDeleteIommi was not a "virtuoso". Many many players better than him.
ReplyDeleteiommi still counts as a virtuoso, i reckon. certainly for these blind items. not a yngwie malmsteen or steve vai type virtuoso, but the dude had a mangled hand and basically created "heavy metal" and had some damn good guitar solos.
DeleteVan Halen never did a farewell tour.
ReplyDeleteNor is the band considered "dark."
Some of these guesses are just too stupid for words. Try harder and be better
BananaRama?
DeleteAnd someone who's on heroin is in no condition to be chasing around after anyone.
ReplyDeleteRoger Waters
ReplyDeleteCould it be Sting. Hope not, but:
ReplyDeleteForeign born- Great Britain
Mostly retired A+- Sting is writing musicals now, has a show in LA currently
"Virtuoso on his Instrument"- Sting is known for his forays into tantric sex
The only clue that doesn't fit is "Dark" band. The Police were ska influenced... That and I don't think I've heard about him beating women.
Half Domer Homer
ReplyDeleteIommi was not a "virtuoso". Many many players better than him.
There are many who would disagree with that statement.
As a few others have pointed out, LZ never gave a farewell performance ortour but Sabbath has
Yanni?
ReplyDeleteHis ex Lita Ford claimed he was an abusive coke head and he admitted it.
ReplyDeleteIT has to be Iommi or some else from Black sabbath.
ReplyDeleteThe Girl In Question. You are referring to Chris O'Dell. That was a good read.
ReplyDeletethank you malcam66, that was it!! i'm going to order another copy - it is well written :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Quotes! ♥
ReplyDeleteAlso, hilarious guesses of Kenny G, Bananarama, Yanni! That made me chuckle.
I was thinking someone from Black Sabbath, hence the "dark band" clue. Is Iommi set to tour with them again?
Stop splitting hairs over whether they are a virtuoso or not. It's clearly Iommi even without the 'dark' reference.
ReplyDeleteIn the book "Cant' Stand up for Falling Down", a rock journalist describes how Iommi came after him randomly in a car park and slipped his heavy watch across his knuckles and pounded him. He was saved from a serious beating/hospital by roadies.
