Blind Item #12 - Grammy Awards - Mr. X
Which singer/actress/celeb spawn sibling of an EGOT who attended one of the main pre Grammys parties was to attend with her more famous sibling, but older sister hasn't been out of her house in a while. Mainly because she's pretty much wheelchair bound and needs assistance to walk.
Lorna Luft?
ReplyDelete/Liza?
ReplyDeleteYep. Poor Liza.
ReplyDeleteShe was such a performer💕
ReplyDeleteI have always adored Liza, but I have been hearing of her imminent death for the past 45 years. I don't think anyone expects her to be out in public anymore.
ReplyDeleteI have to be honest, I don't give a sh!t about Liza, never have, never understood why I should.
ReplyDelete@Brayson87 it's okay, you don't have to.
ReplyDelete@brayson, I used to feel the same, but I caught a clip on youtube of her singing a song from Cabaret live on the Dick Cavett show, and it was really amazing. She really could sing and emote. The definition of a show stopper.
ReplyDeleteShe was a wonderful performer before the drug issue got bad. She could actually sing
ReplyDeleteLiza was one of the greats. She could sing, dance, act. Her performance in Cabaret is one of the great musical performances on film of all time, even though the movie is kind of clunky today as is everything shot in the 60s-70s.
ReplyDeleteAfter that the drugs really took her down fast.
I'm gay so I'm contractually bound to adore her lol, but this one deserves the adoration.
sloan bella just did a video channeling judy garland.
ReplyDeleteI love Sloan Bella and her videos!!!!
DeleteCabaret was fabulous. One of the best movies along with All that Jazz. Saw it in the theater and was mesmerized.
ReplyDeleteAww, love to Liza. I hope, except for the walking, that she is doing well.
ReplyDeleteliza was incredible in cabaret, arthur, new york new york etc. no one ever expected her to live up to her mother's talents but she absolutely did imo
ReplyDeleteSd Auntie: OMG, ATJ was sterling. Scheider was HILARIOUS! "...I just wish you weren't so generous with your [voice cracks] coooock..." >..*wheels turning* "...Ohhh, that's gooooood..." LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGood memory JBW!! One of the greatest movies of all time. Felt exhausted afterwards!!
Delete@gauloise - funny, I recently caught a clip of Judy Garland on the Dick Cavett - or maybe it was jack paar - show and was surprised that she didn't fall over.
ReplyDeleteIt was just amazing that someone let her go out like that - her voice was still good but she was glassy eyed, incoherent and literally teetering around
i'm with Brayson. also, why can't she come in a wheelchair? joni mitchell was at her 75th in a wheelchair. i don't see what it matters. everyone knows she's a fucked up mess.
ReplyDeleteThink she is based in NYC and can't fly. Maybe due to DvT risk...i wouldn't either
DeleteHow can anyone hate Liza?
ReplyDeleteNo brain cells.
DeleteI certainly can’t. Seeing her when I was a young girl
ReplyDeleteOn Bway in Chicago and then last time (almost 20years ago) at A Benefit at Tavern on the Green. She did a staged reading (wasn’t in great shape) , but her enthusiasm, humor and charisma
Still at full throttle. Consummate Professional
I'd rather go out like Bettie Page and have everyone wondering what happened to that delightful and glamorous spirit because one day poof! You're secretly retired and sipping a cool and sticky drink on your porch while old memories wonder where you've gone...
ReplyDeleteAlso robot dogs. I want lots of robot dogs.
@ MissDavie
ReplyDeleteimo 1972 Cabaret is a masterpiece and you gotta watch it when you're drunk to really absorb the club scenes in all their insane magic
in some shots Liza is the spittin image of anne hathaway
