Kind of vague, what's the list of living permanent A++ list singers? Also, who gives a sh!t? They've got enough coin to support that addiction, and as long as they keep their bowels straight they can avoid Matthew Perry problems.
madonna has always been extremely clean-living though. She has a bad girl image, but is really disciplined in her personal life.
I read a biography on Basquiat who she dated in the early 80s and one of their biggest problems was her hounding him about his drug use and all she did was work and exercise and never wanted to do anything fun.

Injections don't require pain pills but I can see where they could get ahold of her and be too "useful" to let go of.

I’m just throwing this out there - I read “Life with my sister Madonna” and her brother stresses that she is hard-core into health - no drinking/smoking/drugs...super healthy eater, in bed by 11pm every night. I don’t think this is her.
Mariah is not and will never be A++. Same for Cher with less actual volume of music in her name. Katy Perry is barely an A level blip.
We are looking at a super small list. Elvis and MJ level fame.

Not always true about the opiates. I broke my wrist badly a few years ago (still have 13 screws and a plate) and they gave me Percocet in the ER then Oxycodone 5 (Percocet without the acetaminophen) post op. It wasn't cutting the pain so I started alternating it with tramadol (had tramadol on hand already) every 3 hours. Did this for about a week til my pain got under control then tapered off as the pain eased up. I still had a few oxy left when I was done. And a shit ton of tramadol.
Probably Madonna,because of her supposed clean living. As was said,people claimed Prince was clean living drug wise. Madonna can't deal with pain or getting old. Going to bed at eleven ? She can't get the show started by eleven. Things change. She has a supposed younger lover her daughter's age. It looks pathetic now. Younger is great but they need their own career and money. And he is too young,she still has young children,remember. The only other I would think is Celine, only because she looks bad.
I see a pain and spine specialist. I understand some people need opiates long term if not permanently. But the scientific research is clear.
My doctor did not want to prescribe me opiates even though I have been in chronic pain for over 23 years due to military related injuries. She said that when patients try to taper off so they no longer need the meds, their bodies are dependent on the drug. She explained that the pain returns and it is worse than it was before the medication was used.
Some people are in a catch-22.
My point is that it is easy to become physically dependent on opiates even when the pain level dictates their use. The scientific research shows 4 days is all it takes.
As far as I'm concerned legitimate scientific research takes precedence over anecdotal evidence.
If Madonna is into clean living and such why did she admit in published interviews that she used molly (ecstasy, MDMA) in the past? Why did she name one of her albums after a recreational drug? Why did she post a video showing her drinking human urine? How is that clean?
Prince was anti-drugs and such. The man had hip-replacement and was given opiates to treat the pain. Rumor has it he was also HIV positive. Even if he weren't I can see how a person who is anti-recreational drugs can become hooked on opiates.
I was given Percocet to take home from hospital, after abdominal surgery. Too strong for me tho. On the second day, I tried driving. Not a good idea. Threw them away. Switched to Advil. I don't know how people can handle those drugs.
Took percocet for a week after surgery and recovered nicely. Had no desire to use and was insulted when asked . It was the only way to sleep or I'd wake up screaming. Never drive after taking oxy or perc.
Since it doesn’t say FB, I would guess Barbra. Liza & Madonna seem too obvious.
Re: opioids: I had a serious injury a few years ago that required surgery and extensive physical therapy. I was trying not to take opioids, but during the first PT session, I almost passed out from the pain. So I took them every day for somewhere between 4-6 weeks. Then that was it. No more. Just Tylenol if I needed it and then nothing at all after the next few months. But I religiously did my exercises, every day, several times per day, Absolutely no pain at all now.
Dependent and addicted are two entirely different things.
Dependent is when you regularly take them for pain relief, and you can stop taking them any time you like. Your body becomes dependent on them so you'll have withdrawal symptoms when you stop taking them.
Addicted means you take them to get high, you take it because you like the way it feels and not for pain relief.
Side note. My ex husband did the hard wood floors in Elton's penthouse apartment in Atlanta. He never paid us. Filed bankruptcy. As much as I love his music....

Stevie Nicks is absolutely permanent A++. I mean COME ON. She's sold more than 30 million albums, is a social icon even outside of music, and is the first woman to have gotten inducted twice into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
And if you're going to call Beyonce permanent A++, you HAVE to admit that Madonna is permanent A++. And I don't even like her.

Negative on becoming addicted after 4 days. I took some high level Oxys every 4 hours for 3 weeks after hip surgery. When the Dr.told me to stop, I stopped. No problems. I saved the rest for "emergency purposes" :)
