I attended a Horror convention located in the Midwest about five years ago where they were hosting multiple current and older stars of the genre. On the last day when everyone was packing up to leave, I happened to walk past a table with this female star of a classic 70's horror film who hasn't done anything near the same level since but will always be remembered for it.  I knew she was done so I just took a step towards her to mention I loved her in a recent TV episode of the same genre. The second she saw me her arm went straight out and she put her hand in my face while looking the other direction. Almost immediately her smarmy handler appeared and started physically pushing me away while informing me that Miss _ was not seeing anyone else today. I tried to explain I understood that and was just passing by but the handler kept smiling condescendingly and pushing me down the aisle.

This was doubly insulting to me since I had just complimented a very nice actress in the next aisle over. The nice actress is mostly known for being in several films by the same horror director based on books by a turn of the century author. She was quite gracious.

This deceased star was famous in his lifetime for acts of daring that often led to broken bones. These acts were often proceeded by massive hype and at one point he had both a movie and a comic book about him.

It was long known that he was physically aggressive with both his wives but a biography coming out next year goes into more detail. He broke his first wife’s nose and trampled on his second wife’s hand when she tried to leave him also locking her in a closet. He was actually arrested twice for domestic abuse but released quickly and charges were never brought in court.

This veteran character actor who passed away not too long ago could look very scary sometimes. He was primarily associated with films of a specific genre, the most famous being a trilogy directed by someone whose first career was not film.  Earlier in his career, he also made many appearances on TV including nine separate episodes of this show that has a reboot as a popular film franchise.

A few decades ago, this actor took a break from film due to his frustration with typecasting and took up another career, receiving formal training. This career involved a type of therapeutic practice. Many of the actor’s clients were those in the prison system seeking to break the poverty-jail cycle. The actor was paid for his work of course but when he eventually took up acting again he continued to do this service for free for those who are incarcerated helping them to change their lives for the better.

It has been said that this accident changed the course of rock and roll as it caused the death of a young up and coming musician (whose songs have been covered frequently since by other artists) and further damaged the existing injury of his friend a slightly more established musician leading to severe drug and alcohol and dependency and a shorted life and career for him as well. Both men are considered musical pioneers.

The official story of this accident is not correct specifically who was behind the wheel. The musician who survived had a penchant for speed which is how he had an earlier severe injury.  He had in fact taken the wheel and was driving wildly when the accident occurred. Both musicians had been drinking. However, if this had come out at the time, there would have been a number of problems for the musician - Existing legal issues compounded plus the fact they were not in the USA when it happened. Money changed hands and the owner of the vehicle took the fall.  The guilt for this led to further self-destruction of the surviving musician.

How do we know this?  There were three other people there that day besides the two musicians not two. One of them did speak out to a tabloid also the injuries and the damage to the vehicle make no senses when compared against the official story and one looks at where people were supposed to have been sitting.

A number of decades ago there was an ensemble comedy film.

Some of the deceased actors who starred in it were this pioneer of early TV who allegedly had an X Rated claim to fame, this actor who fathered an even more famous actor and whose biggest role was as a TV detective, this comedic actor who at the time was in a popular ensemble TV show wherein he played the title character, and this multiple Oscar winner more associated with a different genre.

After shooting was done for the day, the actors would party and these parties would often turn into orgies.  At one of these orgies, a prostitute died. It was an accident as she was very drunk and fell down a flight of stairs. However, there happened to be several Hollywood luminaries visiting the set that day and partying with the actors so to stop any scandal the body was dumped far away from where it happened.  The woman had a police record so there was no further investigation.

The early TV pioneer made veiled comments to a biographer referring to this event in his lifetime.

The new owners of this house owned several decades ago by this avuncular deceased actor who was part of an acting family were surprised by the size of the basement and also the fact all the windows were sealed.

Calling it a “dungeon” is exactly right. The actor, who was in many movies and TV shows but most known for a TV series with a number in the title, was into BDSM which his wife knew and tolerated.  He liked to roleplay as a master with prostitutes but never went too far and was a good tipper which is why the women he paid never blabbed about this.

One unusual ploy he had was to find if there were any art classes in the area employing nude female models. He would then enroll in the class and attempt to pick up the model.

He is very old and largely retired but is still seen as a cultural icon of sort.  A combination of his age and his perceived integrity has shielded him from some #metoo accusations which are from earlier in his career. Mostly his age as most of the women who talked about him have passed away but over the years they did tell people.  The stories were not simple harassment but full on violent sexual assault that occurred on movie sets mostly. This magazine associated with a city started a story but killed it when they couldn’t get a living person on record as to this actor’s behavior.

Divorce papers from the split a few years back of this iconic in sound and look/attire foreign born singer and his much younger wife who dated another family member first show the level of control he exerted.  Weekly, she was given memorandums on hair length and clothing and food intake.  Her clothes were assigned to her by date.  She was also given a schedule for what to do in her free time and even had to attend weigh ins to make sure she did not exceed a certain weight.

This singer has long had a reputation for being a control freak. Another musician who is known for his collaborative songwriting in a critically acclaimed reunited group that should be more famous worked with the singer for awhile and in his autobiography wrote that ,among other examples of the singer’s personality, in his office that handles his business concerns, all the pencils had to be sharpened to the exact same length.

 This singer was originally part of a band a number of decades ago that had a few hits but their biggest claim to fame was being years ahead of their time in their sound and look, a huge influence on the next decade’s music. This band was recently honored in a public event.  On his own, the singer also had a couple hits but has sometimes taken a long time between releases due to his perfectionist tendencies in the studio.  In his romantic life, he has been linked with royalty in his home country and was in a very publicized relationship with another famous person who left him for an even more famous singer.

This deceased TV actress was in two different hit shows (the first one was a spin-off).  After her death, her record for this particular service was released publicly and it showed she had been treated for this malady which resulted in a disciplinary action.  However, what wasn’t discussed was how she contracted it.  The truth is she was sexually assaulted many times by someone in an authority position while she was involved in this service.  It is perhaps the reason she developed such a tough exterior and always denied that she had spent time in this service.

Nobody questioned the death of this noted character actor.  He had heart problems for awhile and was in fact in the process of having an operation scheduled when he died of an alleged heart attack.

This actor’s most recognizable role was in a film about incarceration with this permanent A+ Oscar nominated/Oscar winning deceased star.  At one point, the actor says a line of dialogue to the star that was much repeated and has become part of pop culture. The star was a fan of the actor and made sure he was cast in a number of his films. The actor was also in many episodes of this long running TV western as well as being in many movie westerns.  Later in his life he was in a film featuring two famous stoners and several horror movies.

If they had checked the medicine cabinet of his older, mentally unstable wife, they would have found poison that if taken could be mistaken for a heart attack.  She did  confide all to her psychiatrist.

There is a biopic about to start shooting.  The subject is a deceased singer who recorded in more than one genre whose peak was a number of decades ago wherein he had a couple big crossover hits.  His biggest hit was a song of regret that referenced a woman’s attractiveness.  He had hits throughout his career in the main genre he was associated with.

The singer was a naturally talented musician with a powerful voice and was tall and handsome to boot.  Unfortunately, he was plagued by alcoholism his whole life.  One famous public drunken incident was at a televised annual event.

It was always assumed that this was why at one point he just stopped recording and touring and in the following decade and a half until his death only recorded one more record.

But the real reason he stopped recording and touring was he didn’t need to. An old friend had started a company that everyone knows and patronizes.  The singer helped his friend out financially at the beginning and was a big shareholder in the company which made him extremely wealthy despite his dissolute lifestyle.

This actor was a member of an organization for people who are gifted in a particular way.  Part of this organization’s mandate is to provide education assistance for those who fit the requirements of the organization but don’t have the means to better themselves. While the actor was not that wealthy to help out, he did his part in other ways - Through networking, speaking to school officials, acting as an unofficial ambassador.  This allowed many poor gifted students to get a decent education.

I used to work as a journalist in Los Angeles and I had a colleague named Cliff who had tried to be an actor before he was a journalist.

Cliff told me a story about a film he was an extra on one time.  It was the low budget debut of this Oscar winning/Oscar nominated duo who would go on to have much success.

The lead actor in the film ,who is still active, is someone who has been called an “actor’s actor” .  Not a huge star but a professional who is generally well thought of by his peers and whose presence two well known deceased critics who worked together observed automatically raised the level of a film.

This is one of his few if not his only leading roles as he is the definition of a character actor and has been in scores and scores of films.  The film he was most praised for prior to this featured him in a villainous supporting role with this permanent A+ Oscar winning/Oscar nominated actor who recently had #metoo problems.

Cliff had approached the actor on behalf of some of the other extras for advice and the actor had been more than helpful giving him much useful information about starting an acting career. When the actor discovered that the other extras had put Cliff up to this,  he summoned them all to a room on set in between shooting and spent time answering all their questions.  He gave out his personal phone number as well. He did not want anything for this and was not trying to pick up anyone. He is just a very generous down to Earth guy.

The more famous one has been rebooted a couple of times including recently.  He also had a distinguished career as a writer of screenplays and teleplays .

 He established a foundation which still operates to this day that provides scholarships, grants and other financial assistance to writers as well as students in other fields.  This foundation has helped many people start their careers.  He was known personally for always having time to give advice to young writers.

 In his personal life, with Veteran’s Day around the corner, he was a war hero who was awarded a very prestigious medal for his service. His wartime exploits would make a good movie in and of themselves.

This recently deceased entertainer left behind diaries he kept throughout his life.  The entries dealing with fame and celebrity are not the ones that are going to catch people’s attention.  They are fairly pedestrian in their descriptions of day to day life.

However, earlier entries from a period in the entertainer’s life when he was young and before he was famous detailing his experiences in a certain powerful body wherein he had a position that is often associated with sex scandals do contain some shocking revelations about powerful people.

The entertainer, whose sexuality was common knowledge despite a brief early marriage, has alluded generally in interviews to what he saw and experienced before but the diary names famous members of this body including at least one future candidate for a higher position indulging in same sex affairs (Some with very young partners) as well as same sex sexual harassment.  Of course, none of these men were out in their life.

All the people in the diary are deceased but considering their place in American history the fact that many of them were on the down low would be a huge story if the diary is ever made public

Celebrity #1 is someone everyone knows. He was the flamboyant foreign born permanent A+ lead singer of a permanent A+ list band.  He was the subject of a biopic not too long ago.

Celebrity #2 was not famous at the time they hooked up but later became well-known for playing a specific character first in TV commercials then the same character in movies and a TV show.   He was also known for playing a well-known TV character originated by someone else in a movie reboot.  He had two short marriages but was bi-sexual.

They met at a club in Los Angeles and had a one night stand.  Years later, when he was sick, Celebrity #2 told some friends about it.  He had the same condition that killed Celebrity #1 but this is not what actually killed Celebrity #2 nor does he think he got it from Celebrity #1 as their hook-up was much earlier.

This foreign band that reunited not too long ago after a long lay-off has a deep history of activism and organizing for charity, helping the downtrodden, the natural world, stopping war, you name it. The peak of their success came several decades ago with some international hits and accompanying records.

They are most famous for the striking physical appearance and stage presence of their lead singer who has his own history of activism and charitable advocacy and even served in a political office in their home country.

Since their reunion, in between tours, the band has done a number of charity concerts including putting together one for this very large natural wonder in their home country, raising funds to prevent further destruction to it.

One charitable project they are working on which is not public knowledge yet involves purchasing land to set aside for this very marginalized group in their native country who was the inspiration for some of their most successful music.  They tried this before many years ago but couldn’t make it come together. Now they are older and wiser and better financed and it is all but done. Look for an announcement on this around the middle of next year.

These three vocalists from the same foreign country are in three different bands and are friends.  All three are tall, handsome, and well-dressed and associated with a certain movement in music.  Their heyday was several decades ago but they are still active now.

Vocalist #1 was in one of the biggest bands if not the biggest band for a time in the world.  This was largely due to their second album named after a city and the rise of this TV channel that showed something related to music.

Vocalist #2 was also in a popular band that had one monster hit globally and a number of other popular songs. They were also helped by this TV channel.  At one point, he sued someone else in his band in court but lost.  He is not currently active with the band that made him famous.

Vocalist #3 is slightly younger than the other two but of the same generation.  He is currently the only original member in the group he is part of.  Their most recent release was a sequel to their first record which had several big hits on it.

#2 and #3 have worked together musically on occasion.

During the decade they were most popular in, #1 and #2 took part in this famous charity recording and event.  Later they along with #3 played a music festival in this country which has taken in a lot of refugees.  While there, they attended a refugee charitable event and ended up giving away part of their fee for the festival to a program for refugees and since then have met up occasionally over the years behind the scenes to do charity work with UNHCR and other refugee groups. This has become a family event as well as they often bring along their partners and children too.

Due to the current political climate in that country, the three singers have stepped up their efforts and are organizing a big show for next year.

Today's Blind Items - The Burn

Recently, I was having a conversation with someone who was getting their hair and makeup done on a set. We were discussing a time when someone doing her hair had burned her with a curling iron and how the mark had still not completely faded. The woman doing the makeup interjected and said they never truly go away. She then lifted up the back of her shirt to reveal a half dozen burn scars scattered across the lower portion of her back. She said she had them for well over four decades. She got them when she was 14. She had gone to see this foreign permanent A+ list band with a couple of her friends. They all went back to the hotel with the band and ended up getting drunk. At some point during the night, all three were handcuffed to the bed. She ended up being face down on the bed. Both of her friends were handcuffed to the bed so they were on their backs. For the next two days they were raped by every member of the band, a lot of the band's friends and anyone else who decided they wanted to. They were used as human ashtrays, which is how they got the burn marks. Her marks were limited to areas on her back. Her two friends have burn marks on their breasts. They were not given any food and were not able to go to the restroom. One of her friends begged to go to the bathroom and they finally relented, and handcuffed her to the sink and they put a sign on her saying she was the new toilet.

The three of them told their parents what happened and the police were called. The police did nothing.
