A Christmas Story. That said, I watched the Alastair Sim 1951 version of Scrooge last night and I do believe it is the best version of A Christmas Carol and one of the best Christmas movies of all time. Older but still oddly attractive Scrooge. Campy Marley. Hunky Bear Ghost of Christmas Present. Very handsome young actors and bit players. Hermione Baddeley as Mrs. Cratchett. Very over the top performances by the supporting players (the laundress, housekeeper and undertaker at the "Pawn Shop" is hysterical). It's kind of the unofficial gay version because it's possible to see Scrooge and Marley as exes in the way the relationship is portrayed. I grew up watching the Mr. Magoo version so that's my runner up, followed by the late 30's version with an angelic Ann Rutherford as Ghost of Christmas Present.
