Couldn't happen to a better person :)

DeleteI saw her in concert once years ago. She was over 2 hours late to perform and she insisted that the A/C be turned off in the stadium to preserve her voice. NEVER AGAIN.
ReplyDeleteWashed up skank isn't worth sitting in an arena for 3 hours waiting for her to feel like she wants to perform, especially on a weeknight.
ReplyDeleteI love Madonna's old music, but, I mean, she is basically a granny dancing around in PVC, showing up late for shows and then occasionally going on political rants all the while charging a ridiculous amount for granny, soft core porn.
ReplyDeleteI'll just stick to her "old" YouTUbe videos.
She's here doing 4 nights in Philly, at a 3,400 seat hall (the Met). Saturday and last night sold strong, but tomorrow and Wednesday, there are a lot of empty seats.
ReplyDeleteShow is supposed to begin at 10:30. Saturday's started at 11:45.
@Moose, when a performer is constantly late, you have to wonder if there is a drug or alcohol problem in play. Either that or stage fright.
ReplyDeleteMadge needs to go away for five years or so, long enough for people to miss her, and then come back with a show comprised of her big hits, plus maybe a current Top 40 cover or two.
It worked great for Guns 'n' Roses.
Madge is 61, if she goes away she should just retire.
ReplyDeleteIf she goes away for too long she'll need a walker to get back on stage
DeleteShe doesn't have long. Aged so quickly.
ReplyDeleteIt is time she hangs up her tutu and fades away with what little grace she can muster up in her granny panties.
ReplyDeletei have been a fan of madonna since the 80s; however, the ridiculous prices mixed with being very late and the political rants means ill probably stick with the memories i have with seeing her and her music... not interested in a show that pisses people off. Im actually seeing Cher friday in NOLA and the dichotomy of the two couldnt be more obvious. cher is 73. yes she has some stupid political opinions to me but girlfriend is the consumate professional. she is almost always on time and keep politics out the show .. take note madonna.. the raging bitch act is only cute for so long
ReplyDeleteSaw her in concert a looong time ago. Beastie Boys opened. Honestly they were much better than Madge. Who would want to watch a granny in a thong for two hours? She's done. Next.
ReplyDeleteEven a granny probably doesn't want to see another granny's hoohaw booging out of her vinyl bikini.
DeleteCos no one wants to watch grandma strutting around in her underwear......and her face just looks weird with all the botox and fillers.
ReplyDeleteHer head is reaching Charlie Brown proportions.
DeleteI guess no one told these women that when you add a pound of material to a face, the face inevitably gets bigger.
Has she done a Vegas residency yet? That seems like the perfect solution for her.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Brayson. She'll probably need a little break to let people forget this disastrous tour, but 3-5 years ought to do it.
ReplyDeleteOne fly in the ointment: when you do Vegas, you need to do meet 'n' greets with the high rollers. Can Madge avoid being rude to the casino's biggest whales?
Supposedly this is why Adele doesn't do Vegas. She hates the idea of meet 'n' greets.
Madonna hasn't done anything relevant in two decades. She peaked with the phenomenal Ray of Light in 1998. Everything that followed has been regrettably worse and worse with each release. This Madame X theme is ridiculous and embarrassing for a woman her age. An acoustic reimaging of classic standards (ala Rod Stewart) is her only hope.
ReplyDeleteNah, we just generally dislike entitled egotistical bitches. Not just Madonna. ALL of them.
ReplyDeletelol @ Bruno, who seems to think it's a privilege to have some paid entertainer keep him/her waiting a few extra hours while the cortisone shots kick in.
ReplyDeleteEff you Bruno, I show up late for concerts, not the performers 😅
ReplyDeleteAlthough I guess then Madonna and I would show up about the same time, that could be awkward. 😒
My favorite part of any concert is looking out across the audience and seeing all the people in the crowd and boxes peoplewatching, completely ignoring the act. It's like seeing vampires in a crowd, normal looking people who for one moment completely stand out. Well them and all the plainclothes security and spotters.
ReplyDeleteBrayson, I'm a huuuuge fan of Iggy Pop and the Stooges. The original guitarist, Ron Asheton, died maybe ten years ago. There's a DVD of a Ron Asheton Tribute concert the existing members of the band did a few years after his death. Iggy is doing his thing in some medium-sized theater when he sees some middle-aged guy in a tie. Goes up to him and semi-mockingly (not tooo bad) focuses all the attention on this poor dude.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking, hey, this guy is hip to your show and obviously enjoying the music, so wtf? At the same time, it's a bad plan to dress up like the IBM guy in the IBM-vs-Apple commercials if you're heading out to hear a band.
Madonna should have quit while she was ahead. I'm about her age, and I don't want to see old people prancing around on stage, even if they can still do it. Being sexual when you're older is something that should be private IMO. Oh believe me we still get it...I get more action now with young hot men than I did in my 20s-40s, but it's a private thing. Nobody wants to see sexualized old people except those who are into it.
ReplyDeleteEw. Don't wanna see her ass or otherwise. My friend saw her in Philly this weekend. Said it was a good show, but he's too nice and a communications director, to boot, so I expect the real scoop isn''t so good.
ReplyDeleteYou'd think they'd get embarrassed at a certain point but I imagine she is in such an echo chamber no one tells her shit. AND her daughter this weekend? Gross. Don't they have enough money not to exploit the pussy? Guess not !
@J, Iggy Pop is definitely cool but yeah that was kind of lame, guy could have just gotten off work or brought family who really wanted to go.
ReplyDeleteI had something similar happen at a punk band meet and greet due to a miscommunication. Long story short, those guys were dressed totally punk while I showed up looking like one of the posh kids that bullied them in school. They were polite although there were looks of hatred. Needless to say my friend and I didn't get invited to the after party. 😅
Yeah and she's doing that weird IV stuff with her blood too. When I read about it I got a premonition that she would end up like Michael Jackson :(
ReplyDeleteMadge has been complaining of pain and fatigue a lot this album cycle, I have noticed. Something tells me she's hip to them pain meds, and has reached her DGAF anymore point. Well then WHY THE HELL BOOK A TOUR TO BEGIN WITH THEN, Madge?!?
ReplyDeleteHas she always been chronically late to her shows like that? I've never seen her personally. I knew her tickets have been getting costlier each time she tours, but I hadn't heard of her pulling an Axl Rose until this most recent tour - and one would think that would drive down attendance and costs. I always thought Madge ran a tight ship and was punctual. Guess I was wrong!
She's the pop music version of Dirty Garden Girl at this point.
ReplyDeleteI think the eye patch was her jump the shark moment.
ReplyDeleteI saw her here in Atlanta 2 or 3 years ago and she was fantastic. Yes, she started late but put on one hell of a show
ReplyDeleteI saw every tour between Blond Ambition in 1990 and Sticky and Sweet in 2008, except for one. The only time she was unreasonably late was in 2008 at Dodger Stadium, and apparently that was due to not being able to get a big section of the stage lighting to work. I heard later that they were considering cancelling the show, but ultimately just went forward without that part of the lighting working. I skipped the last 2 tours, it was the Rebel Heart tour where i first heard all the stories of her notorious lateness, so whatever the deal is there, it's relatively recent. I did go to this one, she came on about 10:45 so it wasn't too bad. The show wasn't too good though, but that's because it was so focused on the new album, which I think is horrible. Had I heard the album before tickets went on sale, I doubt I would have spent the $800.
ReplyDeleteI was a big fan of hers in the 80's and 90's but between the Kabbalah and the fake British accent and the lack of any decent new music, I lost interest.
ReplyDeletePeople like my parents liked Madonna’s old music but not the new stuff and they don’t want to spend ££££ on a concert where performer who delays the show for a couple of hours, then drunkenly rants at them. While she is in good shape fora woman over sixty, pointing her granny gusset at the audience is creepy.
ReplyDeleteI think it was cause she did the video where she drunk her own urine
ReplyDeleteI love how we attack people for trying to stay relevant. Not a big Madonna fan, but some people on here harbor an unhealthy hatred for her.
ReplyDeleteJust mention Madonna's name on any given day, and all the ageist mysogynists will come out to play!
