Blind Items Revealed #3

October 24, 2019

Part of her deal in agreeing to make an upcoming movie was the studio would spend a certain amount of $ trying to get her an Oscar nomination and then a win. It is a lot of money. The thing is though, the movie is not good at all. It is going to look really strange, but no one wants to make the permanent A list mostly movie actress with multiple Oscar nominations/wins upset.

Meryl Streep/The Laundromat

  1. I wonder if she will praise Weinstein and Polanski during her acceptance speech...

  2. She's scum. It's that simple.

  3. She must know a whole bunch about a whole bunch of people.

  4. Well shes connected to Epstein so......

  6. It has a pretty decent cast. Enty isn’t exactly spot on with his film reviews and bomb predictions, let’s see what happens.

  7. she was very, very good in that movie, but the movie itself was pretty mediocre. it did a good job of explaining some of the panama papers stuff but it had no real plot. still wouldn't surprise me if she gets a nom if they campaign for her because her acting was the best thing about it, but i'd think she'd be more likely to get one for little women, which has all the "prestige" elements that mr oscar loves

  8. Laundromat is the movie that has received backlash because she is playing 2 characters herself with one being a hispanic...right??

The academy/ studio probably also does not want that twitter mob backlash if she were to win for playing a hispanic character....2019 folks.

  9. Look, Meryl Streep is many things but I'm pretty sure she's not connected to Epstein.

  10. She already has 3 Oscars, how the hell many does she want?

  11. Did any of you see "Ricki And The Flash" OMG it is beyond cringe worthy! It is one of the best "so bad it's good" movies of all time. I really question some of Meryl's script choices.

  12. I would think after maturing a number of years it wouldn't matter how many awards you got especially if your career is still doing so well. She must have a lot of self-esteem problems and feels inadequate.

  13. “I didn’t know. I don’t tacitly approve of rape,” said Meryl Streep. And yet only a decade and a half earlier, Streep had stood and applauded when Polanski won best director at the 2003 Oscars, not so much tacitly approving rape as explicitly celebrating a convicted child rapist.

  14. @Da Fresh, Streep doesn't seem to give a sh!t about other women or even children, I could see her associating with anyone. But you're right, seemed like with Weinstein as her sugardaddy she wouldn't need anything from Epstein. Honestly she's probably like Kevin Spacey when you see them playing a villain, that's not good acting, that is who they really are.

  15. Right. Looking into Meryl's background...I just can't watch her movies anymore at all. And, as I mentioned the the below blind, Emma Watson is not selling the movie to me during press either. I love movies like Atonement, Pride and Prejudice, etc.

And, Meryl has had some hits and misses for sure. But, she played the game and sucked up to the right HW/ Polanski type people who ran Hollywood .....so career for life for her. I am just glad this stuff was finally brought to light. Did not change anything long term in the industry it seems except now I know which actors/ actresses I personally now know to avoid and not give my money to and support. End of the day that is all we can do.

  16. How is The Laundromat "not good at all"? Maybe not pleasing to the suits with money to hide, or a great box office draw among dumbed-down American audiences, but there's nothing wrong with the film except the ho-hum title. I hate - really hate - to say it, but Harvey would have known how to kick this film upstairs.

  17. Meryl pretended to be Betty White in Laundromat. Spoiler Alert...at the end when she did the old Scooby Do, she still was haggy.
I like how they muddled how bearer bonds work. The daughter doesn't get her money because she's not an insider.

  18. @Brayson, yeah. I know in Ronan Farrow's new book, he claimed that she seemed completely blind-sided by Weinstein's actions but I have a hard time believing she didn't know ANYTHING about it. The Epstein thing just doesn't seem plausible however.

@TeeHee, honestly figuring out where to draw the line is tough. Props to you for standing by your principles.

  20. Always thought Street was overrated. Did not like her movies, except The Deer Hunter. Those accents- ugh

  21. F**k Meryl. Can’t stand to look at her. I wish people would stop casting her.

  22. Why did perv Weinstein pick her to patronize as a woman he would promote?

    ReplyDelete
  23. @Studio54, There were many theories, one of which was that she'd point younger actresses seeking success in his direction.

  24. The movie sucked! She's way too overrated. Just because you're way below average looks wise, doesn't make you a great actress.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Jeez Meryl, let someone else have a friggin’ chance at an Oscar.

    ReplyDelete
  26. what a literal psychopath; that's why she's such a good actress, she's a professional actor 24/7

  27. The movie was absolutely awful. Not just regular awful, but WTF kind of awful.
When it ended, we all looked at each other and said, "Who wrote this dumpster fire and why?"

Epstein didn't kill himself and Meryl Streep knew about Harvey Weinstein.

  29. I don't see her as the type you care that much.
