Blind Item #8

Apparently the foreign born B+ list actress was not willing to hit the casting couch so was let go from a hit streaming series.

  2. That Australian actress from Jack Ryan.

    Good for her.

  3. Is that Jack Ryan show any good? I never find the time to watch it.

    1. It is great! I binge watch both seasons.

  4. It’s interesting where these actresses draw the line. Abbie Cornish will not do the casting couch, but she has admitted to breaking up Ryan Phillipe and Reese Witherspoon’s marriage. She certainly is no paragon of virtue.

  5. One other thing, is it still the casting couch if the actress/actor is already on the cast? I feel like there's a desk or trailer term that would work better. 🤔

  6. Turning down the casting couch is unlikely... I think this is a story to save face.

  7. Ohkay....so now she must be a C- list
    without the show !

  8. Nah, Ryan Phillipe broke up his marriage, albeit with Abbie Cornish. No one can "steal" a man who wants to be stolen.

  9. I am kind of with you....I feel like she would have had to have done the casting couch to get season 1...why would she have a starring role in season 1 but then forced out for season 2 when it is casting couch related. Maybe book me for season 2

Maybe she wasn't good? Or liked on the show but demanded too much money for season 2. Or the formula is to have a new leading lady every season like a Bond film??

I don't know much about who she is truthfully. The casting couch seems a little convenient/ or would have already been demanded. If you are a HW type pig, I feel like you demand "compensation" before he casted you not after.

  10. Somehow in season 2 of Jack Ryan, Venezuela is run by Right Wing government who trash the economy and the savior is a left wing liberal guy! Whereas in reality Venezuela has a left wing liberal leader! Also, they have completely ruined the character of Jack, its almost as if whoever wrote the script has never read the novels!

    1. Seriously? Wow, thanks - you've saved me the trouble of watching it and getting annoyed

  11. According to IMDB AC is doing a TV series in Australia. If there was ever any intention of bringing her back for series 2 I doubt she would have committed to that. I suspect they are just going with a girl of the year approach.

  12. She's lucky she got out before the disaster of season 2.

  14. @yep, Yeesh reminds me of that Watchmen tv show. Everyone knows HBO loves to trash source material, GoT was only good because they stuck to the books for so long. I would have expected better out of Prime though.

  15. It's one of the better shows on Amazon. Which isn't saying much. Feel bad if that's what happened. With all the yachting, why is the casting couch necessary?

    1. I found it kinda meh. I am so pissed they got rid of Sneaky Pete.

  16. Season 2 was terrible! Treadstone on USA has a better plotline for the first 2 episodes.

  17. For the record, actors have contracts that usually secure them options on the next seasons. I know that in the imagination of a few people here, casting couches are just as frequent as pedo rings, but there's a good reason for which the casting couch stories are about an actress who wants a part, not an actress who already has a part.

If you want to fire an actress who is already under contract, you have to give a motive for termination, and the actress can get some important severance fees. Besides, what would be the point for an executive to be obsessed with the same woman for more than a year ?

  18. @ Aquagirl

keep in mind when Abbie Cornish was with Ryan Phillipe it was consensual , the casting couch on the other hand is spread your cheeks and where's the lube ?

  19. @Brad: Yes, I understand the difference but being a home-wrecker and being willing to let someone f**k you for a part both show a lack of morals.

  20. @aquagirl It's easy to slut shame, but Ryan and Reece were already separated when he got together with Abbie. Abbie wasn't breaking up a marriage, it had already failed. The reason it wasn't announced publicly was because Reece was up for an Oscar and her team didn't want any distraction from the race. She won btw.

  21. @Aquagirl I’m sorry but no, those things aren’t even remotely similar. Just because you are willing to hook up with someone already in a relationship doesn’t mean you would also have no problem whoring yourself out. This just seems like a low dig without any substantial relation to the blind. What a strange parallel to make. “Oh she slept with a taken man once (and not even that if what Paler than Gold is saying is true), I’m sure she has no problem literally selling her body”. What a strange and petty connection to make. Seriously, what was your intent behind comparing those two situations?

  22. @Paler, Calling someone a mistress/sidepiece is not slut shaming. You bang men you know are married, that's next level, you're doing another woman dirty. Same thing for men and married women. But if they're actually separated that's kosher given how long divorce can take.

@Donnie, All Aquagirl said was, "She certainly is no paragon of virtue" and "both show a lack of morals." Just that both home-wrecking and couching indicate questionable character.

    But I'll say they're similar. :)

A mistress/sidepiece and a whore both bang married men. The mistress/sidepiece does it for fun or low self-esteem, the whore does it for money. At least the whore is only trying to earn money to support herself, drug habit or pimp. What is the mistress/sidepiece's excuse? Where is her moral high ground?
Do you know how many of the men using the couch are married? Quite a few. Is it so bizarre to think a mistress/sidepiece is more likely to bang another married man to get ahead? What's one more immoral lay?

Or think of it this way, if their self-esteem was so low that they'd get with a married man, is it unreasonable to think that their self-esteem might also be low enough to think they need to hit a couch to deserve getting cast?

  23. no clue who she is and have no interest in the show but if she slept with a married man knowingly, she is just as awful as Ryan.

  24. In season 1, Krasinski was just meh. Kinda bland. The backstory, however, about the terrorist and how he became radicalized was riveting and incredibly well acted. Haven’t seen S2 yet.

  25. Good...maybe all will follow suit...the ones that piss me off are the ones that do it the take a check and never say anything until 30 victims later the once they see it benefits them ...they then rewrite history and make all victims look bad.

  26. Well she is already 37...perhaps better just to hit that casting couch for a paycheck.
