Blind Item #6

I told you earlier this week that this foreign born A- list mostly movie actress needed her film to open second to keep her career humming. It opened fourth.

  2. poor Emilia, I think her time has already come and gone.

  3. SAD! She's going to have to get another tv series or something now. Don't think being a film star is in the cards for her (or anyone else from GOT).

  4. I was pushing for her so Enty could get off her back but oh well.

  5. I feel bad for Emilia, but, never forget and always remember Dumb and Dumber married into Amanda Peet (a favorite source of ENTY).

No one wants to talk about it but the ending of GoT....and the faces associated it with it...well their careers have been doomed thanks to D and D. D and D deserve all the blame but who actually receives it...the actors who worked on the show at the box office.

  6. Teehee - I totally agree. I don't want to admit it, but that final season was a hot mess. And I do agree that most of them who survived into the final season have a black mark now. Peter Dinklage is probably the only one with a fighting chance.

  7. Spot on @Thia.

It is awful but the actors were the "face" of the show. The real culprits were behind the scenes but the people who are hurt the most are the actors. I mean damn....now we know why Kit went to rehab.

I simultaneously hate it for them while associating them with one of the biggestt tv blunders of all time.

  8. HBO will take her back. She can always play a Targaryan ancestor in one of the prequels.

  9. Spot on at @DavidAndrews...the same can be said for Alex Skarsgard. He truly picks the worst films that are mass produced. I had to turn off Tarzan because we fell asleep 1/4 through. NO wonder him and Nicole loved BLL the first season so much on HBO....it made to relevant and viable again that they always fail to do in film.

To be fair though The whole Box Office This Weekend was a bust.
So I although I am by no means a huge fan of Emilia Clarke.
At the same time I don't think The Bombing of This Film should be completely Her fault.
I mean after all there was a lot more riding for Doctor Sleep then there was for Last Christmas.
And not only did Doctor Sleep Bomb Here Domestically but Internationally it hasn't done as well either.
And yet despite this I can guarantee you that Ewan McGregor will still get Offers after this.
Although Should Birds of Prey turn out to be Another Bomb for Him - then no doubt things will definitely start to look bad for Him.
But yeah over all I definitely do think Emilia should be given one more try before Hollywood considers Her Box Office Poison.

  11. Can anyone explain to me why Doctor Sleep decided to debut AFTER Halloween? I mentioned this the other day.....I LOVE horror movies..but, I am more in the Thanksgiving preparation mode.

As silly as it sounds, I want to watch scary movies in October not November. I am trying to understand the reasoning behind Doctor Sleep's release date and I cannot figure it out.

Also...Steven King insulted half of America. So...

No wonder streaming devices do not release viewer numbers (which I think they should)

  12. And before you throw "It" success in my face...it was a capitalizing on nostalgia and released BEFORE Halloween.

  13. @TeeHee — How/when did Stephen King insult half of America?

  14. That one likes to paint one long sanctimonious stroke and then fight with herself unless she has a loon in her corner and then cover and duck. Hmmm I wonder if half of America included garbage humans?

  15. LOL ok Mountain Mama. Got that off your chest?

Stephen King did exactly what MountainMama did.... demeaning people and treat them as ignorant because they voted for the wrong person in stead of asking why.

    ZZZzzzzz

Emilia Clarke and Last Christmas. It looks like a Hallmark Channel movie and the leading man is not hot enough to lure the women or the gays into the theaters.
This should have been a TV movie. IDK why the networks don't make films like this and show them once a week like they used to. Surely there's a profit to be made. They should also make adult soaps and adult theme movies and replace the boring AF late night "talk" shows with them.

  20. Without liberal display of her jigglers and dumper, her career is as mediocre as it should be.

  21. If you watch the trailer it's obvious that no actress, not even Emilia Clarke, could have saved it. It's not even Hallmark quality.

  22. I don't think Emilia will be held responsible for this but she does need to regroup. Take a role in an ensemble. Do an indie. Just lay low for a while. As weird as it is, people are still feeling burned (no pun intended) by the last season of GoT. She has loads of charisma. She'll bounce back.

Sorry Amanda Peet, you petty thing you!

  23. @TeeHee@U, you hit a nerve with me the day you called me a garbage person for pointing out you misread and twisted a post of a fellow poster. The moderators removed the post so I cannot link to it. On that day you chose to call me garbage was the day my son decided he was done with treatment for stage 4 melanoma and focus went to end of life care. That is why I will forever be triggered by you. Hope you are proud of that honor.

  24. What would keep me away is the fact it looked more like a Lifetime rom-com and then I heard what it was about. No thank you! Emilia needs to do an ensemble. Make it a non-rom com. Look for better scripts.
