Read nonsense articles on Daily Mail so I’ll fall asleep. Can’t read anything I actually care about cuz then I get invested & it makes my brain activate.
Brayson, powder them with what kind of powder?! Seems kind of strange and bad for someone like me, that has allergies! Seriously though what is this?! I have never heard of such a thing!
You must love whete it’s not stifling hot or a combo of hot & humid.
Powder on the sheets is mainly a Southern thing, but I’ve powdered mine a couple of times - with cornstarch powder. That’s only cuz where I’m staying right now, they like to keep the house as hot inside as out...and it’s 95° outside. 😩 It helps keep the sweat off & helps to keep you cool.
BB, turn off laptop-put away, turn off TV and light. Check bladder for any drainage needs. Hit the sack. and yeah kikibunny, luxuriate in a clean, safe, climate controlled bed. (The old man checks for any dangers) The best part of the day.
@FreeBird I’ve always said the BEST thing about being an adult is turning my A/C whenever I’m hot. I can’t imagine even trying to sleep in that heat. (My A/C is on now)
FreeBird I’m from the South and live in the Deep South, it’s always hot and humid here but I had never heard of that. Interesting to know but I’m surprised corn starch wouldn’t just make you stickier and hotter with a thin coating of powder.
@astra it's a thing! i'm a sweaty sleeper who likes to be a cool sleeper and was taught that the easiest way to acheive that is talc powder on the sheets at night. also useful for camping in the warmer months. :)
I would sprinkle powder on our children's beds when they weren't feeling well. Guess it was a mothering thing. Still sprinkle it on ours.
I think it probably comes down from mothers and grandmothers because here in the deep south we not only have high temps but high humidity as well. Maybe they sprinkled powder to make the bedding more comfortable.
