It was supposed to be nearly impossible to fix an award with this organization, but there was a lot of buzz last night that the main sponsor of the show spread around a lot of money to make sure a documentary won.
Leaving Neverland
Ew.
ReplyDeleteWho is the main sponsor?
ReplyDeleteOprah?
ReplyDeleteLardass Oprah - Satan incarnate
ReplyDeletegeffen has more pull these days.
ReplyDeleteWhat does Oprah gain from backing this documentary?
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to think what she has to profit from it all.
Profit may not be the motivation. Covering ones ass, and creating a cover story is likely
Delete@Unknown - She was a victim of sexual abuse as a child as well. She believes them. I believe them too.
ReplyDeleteIs she on the side of good regarding this then as she seems to mix in some very dubious company according to various blinds on here?
DeleteShe's one of THEM
DeleteBlogger Bloggybutt Oh, seriously? That's why Geffen is one of her best friends.
ReplyDeleteNote: CDAN has been trying desperately to spin Leaving Neverland not as an exposé on Michael Jackson but as a fake story developed by David Geffen to make people assume that Jackson was the sole child molester in Hollywood.
ReplyDeleteI should add that this is total nonsense, because the documentary is mostly about the victims, and the decades of denial they lived through before they decided to open about their abuse to people they trusted. It never claims that Jackson is the only pedophile in all of history, or that Hollywood is a much better place since he died. The message is rather that victims should be listened to, even if they changed their story. I don't see how it clears other people of any wrongdoings.
Besides, the connections "proved" by Enty have never gone beyond the fact that Geffen and Winfrey are in good terms (she's spent time on his yacht) and that Winfrey did the post doc interview with Robson, Safechuck, and their relatives. But neither Winfrey nor Geffen are actually credited in the documentary, which was a British production handled by a guy name Dan Reed, who has an actual track record in crime documentaries for at least 15 years, without connection of any sort to Geffen or Winfrey.
What actually happens is that Enty, Mr. X or somebody else has noticed that there's a large crowd of Michael Jackson fans, who were angry at HBO for airing something that spoke evil of their idol. Here comes CDAN, which provides them with an actual conspiracy theory. It is all an operation by evil pedophile liberal mogul David Geffen, who's trying to get his name out of scandals and who directs the spotlight instead on Jackson.
By the way, a reminder that this very site had for years posted a ton of blind items on Jackson being before it decided to put all the blame on Geffen. Let's take for instance the story about the mass grave next to Neverland, where nobody is allowed to work near.
https://www.crazydaysandnights.net/2018/07/blind-item-8_23.html
Or the story about the recording studio built at Neverland, which was actually a place where he would detain several victims.

https://www.crazydaysandnights.net/2018/11/blind-item-4_28.html
Or the story in January about the estate of Michael Jackson paying people to create favorable PR about Jackson because of the coming documentary.
https://www.crazydaysandnights.net/2019/01/blind-item-2_11.html
I guess these blind weren't paid by Geffen money. Yet, the site has had a sudden change of heart when it realized it could attract another kind of lunatics with the Jacko fans and turn them into Geffen haters.
Thanks for your input, Mr. Geffen
Delete@Angela -well written and makes a lot of sense.
DeleteI've read all those blinds you've referenced and do find the constant contradictions on here confusing and irritating.
Leaving Neverland is a brave and courageous documentary that deserves every award it gets.
ReplyDeleteOprah wanted to be associated with victims coming out about Jacko due to her being a well known, self proclaimed, victim of sexual abuse.
There's lots of things to criticize Geffen over, like his fawning sycophantic SILENCE during the corrupt era of Trump AND inviting corrupt to the max Kushner's brother and his wife on his yacht.
Hey Geffen, I'm sure you read the news today that despicable Kushner was told by the NSA that journalist Jamal Khashoggi was in grave danger from MbS "he handled it", and Khashoggi ended up being DISMEMBERED by MbS's thugs. Why did you fete his brother and his wife on your yacht, and what are your dealings with Kushner?
ReplyDeleteI see that apart from calling me "Mr. Geffen" like schoolboys in first grade, you have zero argument against the facts I've stated.
ReplyDeleteThe site had written for years a lot of outrageous blinds on Michael Jackson, which were most likely as much of a fabrication as the ones published lately on Leaving Neverland. At some point this year, Enty realized he had more to gain (in terms of page views and Patreon subscriptions) with exploiting the fans' anger towards David Geffen, who was already a target anyway, than posting the usual boogeyman stuff about Jackson. He realized that the fans were desperate for something that would dismiss the claims even if it made zero sense. And the usual "readers" are also happy to eat the same crap, given that the blinds charge Geffen even more, while they would have no effect against a dead guy such as Jacko.
