Trying to numb the pain from the loss of a loved one with substances is more common than not. He really should seek therapy to deal with his grief or he will be soon joining her.
I had multiple pulmonary embolism last fall, actually almost a year to the day, and spent a total of 23 days in the hospital. The embolisms were from being confined to a bed in the hospital, of course. I developed blood clots that they didn't know about when I was hospitalized for sepsis and pneumonia. The scary thing about embolisms is that in my case at least there was no pain or symptoms. I just suddenly realized I couldn't get up from the toilet and walk to the other room. I say this cause they say Dog had embolisms. It's really scary when you feel like your own body is fucking you up.
Dog was on Dr Oz today, and I watched bc of this blind. I believe this was filmed before the PE, Dr Oz made him go in for potential heart stents. The guy is an emotional and physical trainwreck. Just heartwrenching to watch him talking about his wife, and just wanting to die prepared. So, it seems the partying has been desperate, "f-it" style coping, only part of him doesnt really want to go out that way. Hopefully, he can turn it around.
