I had 3 of them once, my bf found them at a yard sale, and gave them to me to list on ebay but I didn't get a chance to before my camera died. He ended up listing them himself and sold for pretty good money! They weren't perfect, one EK was in great chape, but the stunt set was so so. Very cool either way, tho.
I have most of them except ... a long metal airplane. As the plane taxi'd a stewardess would go up and down the aisle. This was probably the mid 1960's. The other would be a pinball machine from the same time. It had this big baby on one of the dials. I was so upset when my grandparents tossed it.
Ahhh, I love the doorbell! That was one thing, and the schoolhouse, with the chalkboard cover that flipped up, oh and the barn with the door that Mooed when you open it... That my mom saved the set! She brought it out a few yrs ago, so my son could play with them! Lol! So glad she saved everything, the furniture, animals, people, cars! Lol!
My aunt worked as Christmas help at a local department store. She bought and gifted me with one of the first original Barbie dolls ever made. Do you know how much that thing would be worth today? Time machine please I want my Barbie back.
My handmade Barbie doll clothes my mom made. I thought they were so pretty growing up. I'd love to see them now. And she even made a Barbie wedding gown like Princess Diana.
Toys, none that I miss. I was never that into toys. I did have a great little sailboat which I got when I turned six, but by ten I had outgrown it and need something bigger and faster. I loved that little boat and nothing I’ve ever sailed since, or any toy, has ever brought me as much toy.
I can't choose between the weeble tree house with the lovely round weebles or a Shogun Warrior named Dragun. The shogun warrior was my brothers toy. I never owned one.
I had that 3 wig Barbie too back in the sixties. I think it was called Fashion Barbie or something like that. My older sisters cut the hair on the wigs. So cruel.
I also had an early sixties pony tail Barbie with the striped bathing suit.
1) Barbie Airplane -- So fun and had a distinct smell! 2) A Dawn doll -- She was small enough that you could make houses for her on book shelves or in a tide pool!
I had that Alien "action figure" It had that little plastic piece on its head that you could take off and the head would glow in the dark. It also had a lever in the back of the head that would make the inner set of jaws shoot out of its mouth,
Sadly I was 11 and had zero clue they would eventually be worth a small fortune, so of course I took it out of the box. Right away the socket holding the tail became stripped out and flopped around instead of staying in place, but I still loved it. On the other hand my mom freaking hated it, and few years later when she would go back and forth between Pentecostalism and Fundamentalism (trust me she went to the extremes in both) she took my Xenomorph, and all my LP's and cassettes, and comics and bonfired them all behind the garage.
An honorably mention goes to the Evel Knievel action figure and bike. That was one of the toughest toys ever made, it stood up to anything. We even used to crank it up and launch Evel off of my garage roof - a good 15 foot drop and it never broke. It was one of the few toys that actually lived up to the claims in the advertising campaign.
I would love to have all of them, my family has great taste when it comes to buying toys for kids.
But to choose just one:
I had a doll named "Molly." She could play music, you wind her up in the back and the music you could hear the "Here Comes the Bride" song. I know that is not the name of the song but I can't speak German.

ReplyDeleteThe one I loved most was that Fisher Price blue and yellow house that you could open and close and had a handle so you could carry it.
