From what I have learned about the entertainment industry...I say neither. I would like to have the talent of singing...but not in the business. Plus...the drug availability would be a really, really bad thing.
I watched a thing on Crystal Bernard on YouTube last night and I had no idea she was a singer as well as an actress, so that's why I chose actor. If I'm going to be a-list, I want people to know what I do.
Is there an option none of the above? I don't have the stomach nor the lack of morals to warrant a career in entertainment. No wonder these people have addiction issues.
I can't carry a tune in a bucket, but I LOVE to sing. I know all the words, music, pauses, in every song from the 60s to 90s. When I was in grammar school I was always the narrator because of my excellent "speaking voice" - I was pissed. I read the whole Chicken Little story at a podium but I didn't get to wear a costume. I can't sing but I do.
Must add that I learned for the first time in my life how to be in a moment from an acting workshop that I took. I had never lived in the moment my whole life - always what I did or said and what I was going to do or say. It took these weird repeat exercises in an acting workshop to help me find A MOMENT... I know that sounds crazy but it took an acting class to teach me how to live.
Singer, I think. Acting is so very hard. You have to put yourself in someone else's shoes without using your own emotions. I thought I wanted to be an actress till I found out it's much harder than just getting in front of a camera without being scared.
At this point, neither because both fields seem to be filled with perverts. Hate to think what I might have to do both to get roles/singing contracts and keep getting them.
Singer. I find it extremely difficult to pretend to be something that I'm not and people say that they can read my face like a book. I'd be a hopeless actor.
Dunno if I'd want to be A list anything as someone else said.
Would love to be ABLE to sing in a gorgeous pure voice, but I think I'd use it for therapy for others.
If I had to pick one as an "A list career" It would be acting, because a voice is fragile and they have to always walk a tightrope or lose their income. Something happens to your vocal cords, then what?
People can make a living in acting on being a personality or on how they look, whether leading or character. And it can last longer, but singers' voices tend to change, even with all the care.
Singer
ReplyDeleteActress. Definitely.

ReplyDeleteSinger.. If by means i write my own stuff by context. That way i dont have to hit the couch when the work dies down.
ReplyDeleteSinger
ReplyDeleteActor. I'll limit my singing to karaoke.
ReplyDeleteActing is an easier industry to work in.
ReplyDeleteSinger.
ReplyDeleteSinger, musicians are cool and fun to hang with. Actors tend to be fke and narcisstic
ReplyDeleteActor. You get to go to more cool places, do cool things, and work with lots of hot actresses :)
ReplyDeleteI guess actor, you get to be in different stories playing in different situations. But I'm very, very happy to not be famous at all.

Actor. No need to tour.
ReplyDeleteSinging is far more stressful, worse conditions and less money for more work. So I'll take acting, thanks.

ReplyDelete"A list" means that you sold your soul. There is no other way to
ReplyDeleteA list.
No thanks
I can't singer; nor act my age.
ReplyDeleteCould I be an A List Producer?
Celebrity dart thrower, though I'm afraid I'd need a hand model - someone with flatteringly large ones.
ReplyDeleteI would hate touring so I'll go with acting

ReplyDeleteNeither
ReplyDeleteActress, I can't carry a tune. LOL

Singer.
ReplyDeleteActress......seems like lots of money for the A listers and lots of down time between gigs besides that I can't hold a tune.

But I'd love to be able to trill. Oh well.

ReplyDeleteIf there's a casting couch involved... neither.
ReplyDeleteI am happy with the way God made my life. Struggles are worth the lesson
