It is interesting but not surprising that one host gets fired while the other who is married and cheats like they are going to take away his freedom tomorrow is allowed to stay.
Mario is more likable than Natalie who has always been quite boring to watch on the Today Show if we are honest. She is so bland to me so I could see how people would tune out. I hate he caved to the masses though.
Mario isn't in trouble for his daft opinions. Mario's job is to be a host of an entertainment show. He violated the very first rule: never, ever, ever, ever say anything but nice things about someone else's children. In fact, only say nice things about your own children. Calling out Charlize or anyone by name and referring to their children is rude, unkind and a rookie mistake.
When talking about children, the comments are limited to: adorable, cute, sweet, smart, rascally, high energy, cool outfit, cool shades, handsome, pretty and happy. One does not refer to someone's children as a weird aberration. It's hard enough traveling a road with a child who may be confused about who they are without the hoi-polloi parachuting in with opinions regarding something they know nothing about. Walk a mile in HER shoes.
Mario's response should have been, "You know, I don't comment on anyone else's parenting and I don't comment on children except to say they are all adorable. I am not an expert and I don't want to pretend to be an expert." Mario is a success if he is kind, thoughtful and makes guests feel that he is a nice guy.
Children are off limits to criticism of any kind. If you have nothing nice to say, limit your comments to the weather and the condition of the roads.
Personally, I find Mario a bit too impressed with himself. But, I'm not going to put him out of a job for getting out over his skis. He owes Charlize an apology, a HUGE and expensive bouquet of flowers and perhaps tickets to Disneyland or Universal Studios or Legoland for the kiddies.
Beautifully written, RobertaJoan, but what did Mario say?
I kind of like him giving an actual opinion, as, he usually dimples his way through everything like a beauty pageant contestant. However, I guess that is the awkward line of the interviewer getting interviewed.
Imagine the nerve of Mario Lopez daring to suggest that a child of 3 is not capable of deciding their own gender. I think Mario's dick has probably been enough places that he's assured a job in some segment of the entertainment world no matter what he says. He's willing to settle for being an entertainment television host so that shows he's pretty vested in reality. He's not demanding to be an A list movie star.
NBC must be so proud that sexist, transphobic Lopez is part of their featured network family, and must be wondering with bated breath what ELSE he's going to say over the next few weeks that will offend and piss off thousands of people.
Meh. He went public knowing what the response would be and knowing he would apologize afterwards. He's just virtue signalling. On another note having sex with him must be like stepping on a rusty nail.
My kids thought they were unicorns, superheroes, cats, dogs, rabbits and all sorts of other things.
Libtards are going further and further and are alienating more and more people with their incessant fascist stupidity. Instead of helping themselves, they seem to be intent on destroying themselves. It's fun to watch though.
I can't believe anyone is standing up for that douchebag and the *completely offensive* things he said. A GOOD parent SUPPORTS their kid when they are struggling with themselves no matter WHAT their idiotic Bible tells them to think about homosexuals and transgendered people. Mario Lopez is a sexist and bigot. I can't stand that when I walk into a hotel room and turn on the TV, the first voice I hear is his because of those stupid Extra movie promos he does for in-room movie rentals.
Whenever i see focus group info for a network, im always surprised to see how many middle america women strongly enjoy / have favorable impression of Maury Povich and Mario Lopez. Its interesting.
The Today Show?
ReplyDeleteOr Lopez/access Hollywood?
DeleteMario Lopez
ReplyDeleteNatalie Morales was fired
ReplyDeleteProbably Ho-pez. His wife just had their third child recently too.
ReplyDeleteAJ Calloway was fired from Extra "amid rape allegations"
ReplyDeleteAJ Calloway fires from Extra for sexual misconduct allegations. Mario Lopez still there.
ReplyDeleteMario is more likable than Natalie who has always been quite boring to watch on the Today Show if we are honest. She is so bland to me so I could see how people would tune out. I hate he caved to the masses though.
ReplyDeleteThe allegations include sexual assault. For Chris sake that’s not “cheating.”
ReplyDeleteIt’s gonna be like in Mario Lopez because of his recent interview. I agree with every word he said by the way.
ReplyDeleteWhy do celebrity men truly think their penis' is so special that every woman needs to experience it?

Be nice. It's simple and free!
What a great response. Thank you for this.
DeleteBig thumbs up to Mario Lopez for politely expressing commonsense opinions.
ReplyDeleteBig thumbs down to him for apologizing afterward.
Any dissenters will be hunted down and shamed by the thought police until they apologise. Meaningful adult debate re this topic is VERBOTEN!

ReplyDeletei think he was right in what he said. wrong to apologize.
ReplyDeleteWhy do so many people think it is their place to tell others how to raise their children?
ReplyDeleteWhy apologize when you are right?
ReplyDeleteIf this is Lauer/Lopez it might have more to do with their targets being willing or unwilling.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason bimbi throw themselves at married men (maybe for the same reasons he accepts: it can't go anywhere. "Fun" without commitment?)
Lauer allegedly hit on about anything with a pulse, and a lot of underlings might've felt intimidated/harassed by that?
Newsflash: Morales is married, too, and is definitely known to cheat, especially with Matt Lauer.
ReplyDeleteWell, whatever. Lopez said nothing wrong. He might be a shit in his personal life but he still said nothing wrong.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch morning shows/daytime TV really any more, and haven't for some time. What show is Lopez on again and who is Natalie Morales?
ReplyDeleteI only tuned into Lauer's show a few times over the years - tops. Mainly saw him on clips later. He had some interview clips that got played a lot.
He said nothing wrong.
ReplyDeleteMy kids thought they were unicorns, superheroes, cats, dogs, rabbits and all sorts of other things.
