  2. It's interesting you're asking this now as a friend just brought her up this past weekend. As I told him, I really didn't know anything about her. She just suddenly started turning up on the Drudge Report and then she was dead. I don't think I've ever heard her music.

When she was big, I was mostly listening to Classical and opera and had no real interest in the pop music scene.

  7. Back to Black, but, I like a lot of her music. It is so dark and rainy and cool here today....perfect Amy Whinehouse album mood. Gone to soon :(

  10. All of it. I am quite fond of Valerie and Back to Black and Tears Dry on Their Own. No way can I choose just one. What a loss. What an amazing voice she had.

  17. Valerie and her "Cupid" cover- also her live cover of Donny Hathaway's "I Love you More Than You'll ever Know". At her best, she was a force.

  18. I had the pleasure of seeing her in concert in a little venue in Minneapolis. She was great, smoked on stage, which was a big no no as MPLS had just banned smoking inside. Between songs she drank from her red solo cup and it seemed the more she drank, the more the crowd cheered. I felt so bad for her. It seemed like she was at a point of no return. I still have the ticket stub for that show.

As for the question, either Wake Up Alone or Love Is A Losing Game.

  29. I only know one song of hers (Rehab), and I don't really think it's all that. I've never understood why people went so nuts over her. She just never particularly affected me.

  31. Frank and Back to Black are both just great mood albums from stem to stern...if I put one on, im listening all the way through, and chances are to both.

  32. Gosh, I love almost all of them. "Tears Dry on my Own" just takes me back to the 60s - Love it. Valerie. I agree with another poster - DO watch the documentary about her. I love her backup singers too - watching them just makes me smile. She was an amazing talent.

  33. All of them. ❤️😭 If I had to choose at gunpoint, I suppose I’d say Love Is A Losing Game.
