Blind Item #9
After two years in development, what would have been an incredible tell all limited series about the fired long time morning guy and all of his affairs and the gossip about those around him is now on hold. When the Loudest Voice/Roger Ailes thing bombed it made this pay cable channel/competing network to the fired anchor take a step back.
Matt Lauer
ReplyDeleteLauer/Showtime owned by CBS?
ReplyDeleteMatt Lauer and Fox "News"?
ReplyDeleteMatt Lauer
ReplyDeleteMatt Lauer. Here is the difference though. Everyone knew that every actor, director, producer on the Loudest Voice HATES conservatives and anything right of SJW, left. Hollywood hates Fox News. We get it. The only appeal it had was to people who are also anti-Fox/ conservatives.
ReplyDeleteNow, Matt Lauer: Conservative/ flyover state and coast women alike, such as my mom and many other, knew him and watched HIM (not the person who hired him like Roger AIles at Fox) . I would say Roger AIles and Les Moonves of CBS shows/ movies would both be bombs as they are not household names with 90% name recognition like Matt Later.
I do not think a Matt Laurel series would bomb at the same level or at all, but, Hollywood would rather not produce something that would make far, far lefties like Matt Lauer look bad when a series about a conservative boss at Fox News bombed, hard.
Spoiler alert: there are horrible people on both sides and all those in between.
And, soapbox over. LOL
I was thinking more Charlie Rose.
ReplyDeleteMatt Lauer
ReplyDeleteI'd watch. The locked office is of particular interest.
ReplyDeleteMatt layer has such a weasel face.
ReplyDeleteThe Roger Ailes thing probably only bombed because it's on Showtime. The Showtime crowd may not be the people that are going to eat that up.
ReplyDeleteRoger Ailes TBH has no glamour factor, it would be like watching a documentary on Dick Cheney, someone just pure evil without any kind of other side
ReplyDeleteMatt Lauer at least is relatable and has more of a story arc than evil became more evil was more even more evil.
Not everyone has Showtime. Can't understand why those dopes produce elaborate and expensive films, then limit the audience. Obviously they are unclear about who the audience for these films might be.
ReplyDeleteDuh.

Teehee@U-- agreed...most people dont recognize Ailes by name or face, but Lauer was on everyone's screens for decades, and they'd want to know the scoop!
ReplyDeleteLauer was always known to be an asshole but when he cornered Hillary about her emails his fate was sealed. At least a red scarf wasn’t involved.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! I know I do. LOL Also, Lauer has probably more name recognition than most of the actors called out in the #MeToo movement. Pretty much everyone over the age of 18 knows of him and how he fell from grace.
ReplyDeleteMost everyday people did not know of Harvey Weinstein either, but, given his relationship to so many A listers and how he controlled the news for months...people would show up for that one too.
However, given how many famous actress(e)s such as Ben and Matt and Merly, Charlize and Nicole and many others connected to him when they were rising starlets.... I am not holding my breath for that wide film release lol.
I can't imagine anyone wanting to see Lauer's sleazy life played out in a TV drama. It was hella fun seeing him get caught and fired, but beyond that, no one cares. Unless, of course, they get Will Farrell to play him. Then I'd watch.
ReplyDeleteI get the impression those who make the important decisions on network / cable programs are pushing people and an agenda on their audiences. Why are so many popular shows taken off air? It doesn't make sense.Seems like rising to the top includes going along with their agenda. Rapists / pedophiles make it . Gayle King/ friend of Oprah is a good example of rising to the top....ratings fell when CBS had a shake up on their morning show when Gayle was moved up . The Curse again.
ReplyDeleteRay Donovan, The Affair (in the beginning), Shameless and Dexter have been Showtime Hits.
ReplyDeleteCaptain Kangaroo or that deceased reprobate Mr. Green Jeans.
