@E Chill. She makes way more money than he does and she got the ring she wanted. I don't know if he's a golddigger, but that's not the vibe I get from them and as long as they're happy it literally couldn't matter less who makes more.

ReplyDeleteAstra I know it sounds sexist on paper but, the relationships I've observed in which a man earns way less than the woman earns, he's turned out to be a user creep and it ends in tears.
ReplyDeleteOr he dumps her once he's on the upswing, because his ego wants fresh eyes, who worship him and he feels like the errand boy in the old financially lopsided relationship.
Can't divorce societal influence and expectations from anything. Males are indoctrinated to be the hero breadwinner since they're pre verbal.
To be fair, @Astra, poor women who marry rich men are usually called "gold diggers." So, as we say in the UK, it's swings and roundabouts really.
