The whole narrative sounds pleasant and the whole experience in the photo shoot was a win/win for all involved. The thing is though, we already know the documented history of one of the band members who thought the shoot was a great idea. He is also one of the few band members who was there to watch the shoot. He is the only band member who still has every single photo from that shoot plus videos. He is also the only band member who knows what happened to the other tweens who auditioned for the shoot and then didn't get the gig after their one on one meeting with the band member. They don't have any good recollections of the process. You can trot out the two stars and they can say it was all rainbows and unicorns even though they are not telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth. What about the barely a teen who got pregnant by the musician? What happened to her? This was his idea and his vision and was the epicenter of all his fantasies. The fact he was an A list musician in an A list group made it all happen.
Something to do with Henley and Eagles?
ReplyDeleteStill waiting on that one...
DeleteZepplin album photo cover shoot.
ReplyDeleteZeppelin/Houses of the Holy
ReplyDeleteNoooooooooo, say it isn't so! Not Jimmy Paige!
DeleteHouses of the Holy, @Wendy? That would def fit.
ReplyDeleteZeppelin
ReplyDeleteCould be a lot of bands, but I will guess Steven Tyler and Aerosmith, because of the pregnant teen comment.
ReplyDeleteThat little duo with Zoey Deschanel.
ReplyDeleteSo is the musician Jimmy Page?
ReplyDeleteThe Zeppelin cover was little children.
ReplyDeletehttps://forums.ledzeppelin.com/topic/1350-houses-of-the-holy-cover-mystery-solved/
Yep, it is Page
ReplyDeletehttps://www.exposingtruth.com/jimmy-page-whole-lotta-pedophile/
4 bs stories on that site so don't take it too seriously
DeleteAerosmith and the video Alicia Silverstone was in?
ReplyDeleteNevermind A list group and A list musicians huh Enty?
ReplyDeleteSo I never knew this - it is only two kids on the cover of "Houses of the Holy" - a brother and sister.
ReplyDeleteSo is the epicenter of Page's fantasies not only children, but family members?
those were Robert Plants kids. at least thats what i remember. RP hates JP for a reason. the kids on the cover are under 10. the Blind faith one makes more sense
DeleteThey were not RP’s children. They were Samantha & Stefan Gates, who were 6 & 5 at the time, respectively.
Deletehttps://dangerousminds.net/comments/houses_of_the_holy_the_backstory_to_the_famous_led_zeppelin_album_cover
thanks@Daelynn.
DeleteI've decided Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. were an A list group and A list musicians too Enty, just to help you out a bit.
ReplyDeleteThis blind implies slightly older children than the ones on the Zeppelin cover, but Enty .hey be implying something else. In the news because Facebook lifted a ban on the cover.
ReplyDeleteI don't doubt Jimmy Pages well known perverted tastes, but I doubt this blind is Houses of the Holy.
ReplyDeleteI agree. It's Led Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy album. Jimmy Page being the pedo who personally screened candidates to use on the cover. Jimmy's love to young girls is well documented.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it's Page as well, but the other candidate might be Blind Faith. The pubescent bare chested girl with the airplane on the cover. And you have a bunch of A list musicians in the band (Winwood, Clapton, Baker).
ReplyDeleteWasn't there some crazy shit about Ginger Baker some years back?
There's an awesome documentary about Ginger: "Beware of Mr. Baker". Highly recommended if you're a fan
Deleteyes@moose!! it was creppy.for sure.
DeleteAccording to this, there were no auditions... the girl was spotted on a Tube.

By the way, Dunluce Castle, the ruined Castle on the sea crag in the centre of the Houses of the Holy gatefold album, is a fucking awesome place. I've been there many times. Much better than The Giants Causeway which is nearby. It's only a mile or two from where T (British) Open golf championship nis being played next month. And if anyone is ever interested in going up that way, then also catch the Bushmills distillery, the terrifying Carrick-a-Rede ropebridge, Ballintoy Harbour - better known as The Iron Islands on GoT, all within a ten Mile stretch of coast.
ReplyDeleteHe was robbed by someone he hired to work for him of about $500,000. The person said she didn't rob him, he hired her to be his lover gave her the money.
ReplyDelete@Moose,I was thinking the same. That image is more of a sexualized image, back in the day no one thought that of the Zeppelin cover.
ReplyDeleteRead the blind, this is not about Page or the Houses of the Holy album cover. However, there is a recent story where folks banned from Fakebook for posting the cover in their feeds.
ReplyDelete@Guesser - if I remember correctly, the initial US release of "Blind Faith" didn't even have the same cover because the image was deemed exploitative. The parents of the girl had to consent for the photo to be used.
ReplyDeleteWOW Moose your post is almost verbatim what I was going to say... Have you seen Beware Mr Baker?! AMAZING DOC i have watched over and over, just for the FELA and other drumming clips which are unbelievable. GINGER was and probably still is a dog. if capable at all. He's on major prescription drugs now for something legit and his pupils are pin all the time. It really shows on the light eyed junkies...
ReplyDeleteANYWAY there was this scene in the movie and he's at his house with his teenage stepdaughter on his lap that is super creepy. You can tell this girl doesn't want his hands on her. I love Ginger's work but as a person, as his own son said, he really sucked.
@E, @momo - now I have to see "Beware Mr. Baker". Thanks for the heads up.
ReplyDeleteI like the Blind Faith / Ginger Baker guess. Zeppelin is an A+ group so doesn't fit here. Haven't heard of Beware Mr. Baker but I'll be looking it up!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletei thought of the Blind Faith cover too, but the Zeppelin cover is in more recent news for becoming "uncensored".
ReplyDeleteWhat's this noise about "you can trot out the two stars"? If the two stars are in the photo then doesn't that rule out the Blind Faith angle?
ReplyDeleteThe key to the blind might be the "two stars". As i mentioned above, though it looks like more. there are only two people on the cover of "Houses of the Holy". They were photographed in multiple positions.
ReplyDeleteThere is only Mariora Goschen, the 11 year old girl, on the cover of Blind Faith. Unless her 14 year old sister, who they turned down for being too old, was also there.
The boy on the cover of HotH is Stefan Gates, who has hosted a number of cooking shows on BBC2.
ReplyDeleteMore old English pedos, surprise surprise, they've got a real allergy to adult women.
ReplyDeleteJust found this--may be photo-shopped but the posters on that forum seem to think it could be real ??
ReplyDeletehttps://forums.ledzeppelin.com/topic/22846-houses-of-the-holy-photoshoot/
This interview states Jimmy Page did not see the cover until after it was shot and rendered. That eliminates him as the subject of the blind.
DeleteOh, and the idea for the image on HotH came from an Arthur C. Clarke novel. Bodes ill!
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine in N. Ireland is a photographer and took one of the most amazing shots of Devil's Causeway with Northern Lights. http://www.nightskyhunter.com/Aurora%2032-32.html
ReplyDeleteI couldn't figure out why it was so familiar to me because I had never been there. Then I remembered and it kind of freaked me out. That's a strange place, but so beautiful. Very much worth a look, http://www.nightskyhunter.com/Aurora%2032-32.html
The photo is other-worldly. Absolutely superb!

Dunluce Castle at sunset.
There's also a giant Sea cave under the castle that's open on the land side too, which makes it a natural tunnel.
The recently discovered the ruins of a town beside the castle from the 16th century that no one has a clue existed. And across the road from the entrance is a ruined church and graveyard which is the creepiest place I've ever been in. All sound seemed muted as you walked through it.
Thanks Flashy. I look forward to seeing it. Yet in my head, when visiting it, and the Acropolis, I will hear Keanus voice as Ted saying- "this looks like the cover to The Houses of the Holy"!
ReplyDeletehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houses_of_the_Holy
I thought the "trot out the stars" is referring to the two stars of the band, Clapton and Steve Winwood. "the documented history of one " = ginger baker.
ReplyDeleteThere was only 1 model, and a bunch of auditions.
Also, the houses of the holy dont look like tweens, but actual children. Blind faith is def tween, not kid, not teen.
100% NOT Led Zeppelin -- the blind is about tweens, and mentions the band member has videos; the kid on the album cover is like six, and the album came out in 1973. Come on.
ReplyDelete@Hush.
ReplyDeleteYou coming over here then?
Ginger Baker is a creepy asshole! He got in my face and yelled at me as he was walking onstage. Granted, my disdain for him may have shown in my expression but stil
ReplyDeleteYes, this sounds like Ginger Baker of Cream fame who apparently got up to all sorts of debauchery in Africa as well. His current wife is nearly 50 years younger,
ReplyDeleteIf you mean that Causeway shot with the northern lights I agree... I was his friend when he took that.. just a kid, and I never tire of it. In fact I just made it my desktop again. That kid is very talented. I wish I could send him some money.
ReplyDeleteThe less said about reprobate Ginger Baker, all the better. The creepy scenes featuring the old rotter puttering around the house in Africa provoked a vague sense of unease. Time to float off on a burning raft of kick drums. Your time's over, old man.
ReplyDeleteGinger Baker recently replied to a comment I made on a facebook post. He recommended that I read his daughter's first book and posted the link to it.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty cool. Good on her! Sounds like irascible Ginger Baker recognizes he personally has nothing left to say.
ReplyDeleteMy understanding is his daughter runs his FB.
ReplyDeleteWow Flashy that's gorgeous!
ReplyDeletehttps://wp-assets.futurism.com/2013/02/529865_420700504683031_1116226838_n.jpg
Some day Flashy, no plans currently.
ReplyDeleteJimi Hendrix, Electric Ladyland?

It seems that nobody here has seen the original cover for Virgin Killer by Scorpions.
ReplyDelete@momo, that is possible. At first I thought it was a fake account. I clicked on the name and it was the official account. It could very well have been Nettie Baker promoting her own book. It was still fun to think Ginger Baker was sitting around posting on facebook. You would be surprised how many performers actually do run their pages and respond to comments.
ReplyDeleteAd Anthony, the kids weren't related to anyone in the band, they were brother and sister models who didn't get paid much apparently. There is an article in the DM somewhere where they're interviewed. They'd never allow a cover like that nowadays but the kid models said back then it was very natural and they felt comfortable.
ReplyDeleteJFC The blind mentions VIDEO, do any of the geniuses here discussing Led Zeppelin or Jimi Hendrix realize that nobody was shooting videos back then? Why does everyone here always assume the first guess is right?
ReplyDeleteHe took up with 13 year old groupie Lori Lightning back in the day.
ReplyDelete
