Turns out the "leak" about the result of this game show was actually done by the studio who distributes it because they wanted spectacular ratings. They got it. Biggest numbers in over a decade which wouldn't have happened without the leak.
Don't get it... why kill the ratings goose. He either threw the game, or they fudged with his buzzer (sure seemed like he could buzz in like the previous 20+ shows). No way he lost after such dominance without some shenanigans.
Gator, I wasn't sure if he got bored, or if the librarian managed to beat him at his own game. He didn't throw the final question - even if he got it right he would have lost by $1.
Has anyone else noticed that contestants now go for the larger amounts first, and they tend to give short answers (eg. "Fitzgerald" rather than "F. Scott Fitzgerald")? People have learned from the guy, that's for sure.
Jeopardy has been rigged a long time. Whoever controls the buzzer wins. Jennings is a fraud too. Who wants to be a Millionaire rigged it so an IRS agent could win. The $1M Laugh-in question was a joke.
Sponsors controlled game shows in the 50's. Now a handful of corporations control everything including government. No one is going to investigate game shows
did eveyrone see the Shazam episode where the guys won a million? something was off. how do you not know who shania twain is then magically know all her songs... it was weird
We all know tech isnt 100 percent 100 percent of the time. Its not possible the buzzer, etc on Jeopardy always works and is always fair. Three people in the control room would know about / plan a tech glitch that changes everything.
I agree. He wasn't trying very hard that last episode. I had even said to my husband at the end that I thought he through(threw?) the game. I thought maybe he was tired of it.
That Jeopardy dude?

ReplyDelete@Jimbonius, You're assuming he was legit in the first place.
ReplyDeleteHe appeared to throw the last game, he didn't even try at all on the last episode.

ReplyDeleteYou're all forgetting the Quiz Show scandal in the 50s. Rigging a game show would be a big fucking deal.

Last week I saw James H. On the show featuring the Beast and Brooke Burns on Game Show Network. Probably about 3-4 years old and he dominated.
