Blind Item #2

Everyone at the Tony Awards last night was asking why that award-winner was so roundly snubbed by their own writer. The winner's spouse didn't care, they were just too thrilled to finally get their own moment in the spotlight. Guess they've finally been forgiven for being kicked out of the Oliviers for trying to gatecrash the VIP area.

  4. This must be The Ferryman writer Jez Butterworth talking about his wife and lead actress while snubbing the original lead Paddy Considine who left the show earlier in the run.

  6. I don't think it was Jez Butterworth because it reads like it's the snubbed person whose wife enjoyed a moment in the spotlight, not the writer's wife. Paddy and his wife weren't at the Tonys. Jez's wife starred in the play and won an Olivier for it (so wouldn't need to gatecrash) which doesn't fit "finally having a moment in the spotlight".

  8. James Graham didn’t mention any of his cast in his speech, so when else would have snubbed Carvel? And I thought most of the original cast had left the NY production (just as many cast members had already come and gone in the British productions), so why would Butterworth single out Considine?
