Speaking of celeb spawns, this permanent A-list entertainer and EGOT is also being sought out by the producers of the same film remake from the previous BI to play the villain. She technically won't literally appear on camera, because the character will be CGI'd. She hasn't committed to it yet, having not starred in a movie in close to 30 years, but her team is worried about her stamina and if she's up to even go into the studio to record her lines. Yes, she did travel back to the city where she lived for decades for an event, but it was a last minute appearance because she confirmed and cancelled so many times. Her team is thinking she may do the same thing with this possible comeback role.
Liza Minnelli’?
ReplyDeleteWhoopi or Barbara
ReplyDeleteDo either of have famous parents?
DeleteI think they both on pretty good shape as well..?
@tricia. I think Tricia has it.
ReplyDelete+1 Tricia, and it fits her Snow White guess in previous blind.
ReplyDeleteShe’s be great in it actually
DeleteYep I was thinking Liza too. Who else hasn't acted in that long?
ReplyDeleteLiza Minnelli playing Ursula in the live action The Little Mermaid
ReplyDeleteOMG liza as Ursula would be amazing

ReplyDeleteLiza - celeb spawn being the daughter of Judy
ReplyDeleteYou could apply this quote to Liza as Ursula- "Either they're drawing Mr. Magoo to look more more like me, or I'm looking more like him."- Jim Baccus (aka Thurston Howel III)
ReplyDeleteIt's 2019 most recording equipment is a laptop now; whomever it is, they can take the recording "equipment" to her wherever she'd be most comfortable. She needs new team members if none of them are aware of this.
ReplyDeleteLiza can do anything she wants.
ReplyDelete@ Tricia seriously? Does Liza Minnelli have a famous parent? Hello! JUDY GARLAND!
ReplyDeleteUm-my question was to Unknown who answered with Whoopi or Barbara..

ReplyDeleteClearly this is meant to be Liza. Strictly speaking she does not have an EGOT because one of her awards was honorary, but she's close enough.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I was not especially excited about a Little Mermaid remake, but if Liza's in it, I will change my mind!

There are EGOT winners including non-competitive awards

The "having not starred in a movie in close to 30 years" is tripping me up a little.
Looks like Tricia has it with Liza for the win, she's done some TV stuff more recently but not movies.
ReplyDeleteWhatever they have to do to accommodate Liza...do it. She's a living legend. She won't be around forever.
ReplyDeleteIf this is true. Then I have to say that I am really surprised that Disney would go for Liza Minnelli & not Lady Gaga who was originally rumoured for This Role. Although to Me Lady Gaga would have been a predictable choice. Which is why I imagine there thinking outside the box. Which good for Disney for doing that.
ReplyDeleteGots to be Liza.
ReplyDeleteBella Thorne for Ariel! 🔥👩🦰🐟
ReplyDeleteRita Moreno 88 years old
ReplyDeleteRemake = West Side Story (2020) pre-production
1977 she won the Emmy
1972 she won the Grammy
1962 she won the Oscar
1975 she won the Tony
Love her in One Day at a Time
Deletestamina = 88 years old
ReplyDeleteaudio work = James Earl Jones
villain = Darth Vader
1991 he got an Emmy
1977 he got a Grammy
2011 he got an Oscar
1969 he got a Tony
"Recording equipment is a laptop" says no one who has ever worked in film or TV, or music before
ReplyDeleteI think Tricia has it with Liza, who, sadly, is also notorious for health and stamina issues, not to mention being a famous offspring.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of her as Ursula, but what's the point of doing a live action remake if one of the main human-like characters is going to be completely CGI? IMHO, Ursula should at least be a mix, like Will Smith as Genie. If going complete CGI, then skip the HW celeb casting altogether, and get a great, booming voiced gem from Broadway.
@Unknown - I wouldn't be so sure about that.
ReplyDeleteLiza with a Z
ReplyDeleteLiza did have a famous father too you know......Vincent Minelli, everyone forgets him.
