This Grammy Hall Of Famer who was one of the biggest radio stars ever also has a memorable last name. She was in love with a convict and as we are discovering now, a communist sympathizer which people in Hollywood knew about but tried to keep quiet because they loved working with her.
Edith Piaf?
ReplyDeleteRosemary Clooney
ReplyDeleteRosemary Clooney and one of the Hollywood Ten? Dalton Trumbo?
ReplyDeleteFanny Brice? Her first husband, a famous gambler and con man, went to prison twice during their marriage
ReplyDeleteRosemary Clooney. It runs in the family.
ReplyDeleteDef Rosemary Clooney. Also, Sean Penn likes to talk about how his Commie daddy was blacklisted. Hmm, reading thru that IMDB, the gap of no work blacklisting isn't there. Nor is it for 99% of the list. Going abroad and doing tons of projects doesn't mean you experienced life ruin, esp considering the accused were guilty of the charge.
ReplyDeleteDoris Day? She's also been in the news recently. She picked terrible, terrible men and was deeply unhappy as a result. She was adored by everyone who worked with her.
ReplyDelete@SlimKeith I was thinking of Day, too, but her husband died before any charges were brought, but may be convict just means conman in enty speak. Terry Melcher embezzeled most of her money
ReplyDeleteRosemary Clooney does not have any songs in the Grammy Hall of Fame - Doris Day has three.
ReplyDeleteI meant Martin Melcher, Terry is her son
