Blind Item #8
This permanent A+ list singer had her ex embezzle a ton of money from her. Our singer goes on tour to make up for it and also has sponsored her life so she can be as frugal as possible. She promotes a car service who drives her everywhere for free. A meal service who sends her every meal for free. A chef service who prepares it. A housekeeping service who cleans her place. The list is endless.

ReplyDeleteMariah?
DeleteAnd Nick Cannon
DeleteMariah
ReplyDelete+1 for mimi
ReplyDeletebig wow if this is mimi
ReplyDeleteThis pretty smart business decision. Congrats to whoever it is!
ReplyDeleteMary J Blige??
ReplyDeleteNot sure who this is, but it’s not Mariah.
ReplyDeleteMimi is a songwriter and the majority of her money now is coming in from her publishing royalties & Cannon didn’t get any of that dough.
This seems more like Gwen Stefani.
I can see it being Mary J Blige.
ReplyDeleteCan see it being Janet Jackson.
ReplyDeleteShe’s out again on the road (LV now) Montreal next month. The ex is rich but shady AF
I think that perhaps her ex isn't as rich as the tabloids claimed.
DeleteMary J.Blige or Olivia Newton-John.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of shady dealings, Praz Michael of the Fugees, was charged with Federal Campaign finance crimes. He was caught spreading $865K to 20 people, so they could donate to Obama's 2012 presidential run. Plus another million to a election committee. It came from Jhow Low, who blew up the Malaysian 1 MBD fund. I wonder what other shady things celebs have been up to in that country.
ReplyDeleteHow shady are the Fugees. Wyclef Jean had blinds about money laundering and embezzelment, I guess the earthquake disaster relief brought out all the grifters, like the Clinton Foundation. And how does Praz get involved in campaign finance? With asian countries no less.

This blind could also be The Fugees Lauren Hill.
ReplyDeleteMariah. Wasn't she engaged to some big money man.
ReplyDeleteI’d love to see these endorsements
ReplyDeleteShe was Jenny Craig spokesperson few years back. No need to have a chef unless she is too lazy to microwave. Lol
DeleteWho GAF about Obama's 2012 campaign? Not I.
ReplyDeleteNot Mariah Carey, rumor was her manager, not Nick Cannon was embezzling her money to some degree but agree this isn't her.
Mary J Blige maybe? It's a brilliant strategy - one Lil Kim should have taken a long time ago if she were a reliable human. You have to deliver to make those deals work.
Tamar or Toni Braxton??
ReplyDeleteMariah doesn’t tour.
ReplyDeleteLol I literally thought that was a joke then I looked it up and she is in fact going on tour. Oy Vey. Why would anyone pay to see her lip synch?
DeleteSmart girl.
ReplyDeleteits mary j blige
ReplyDeleteI had this idea in college to have my life sponsored. Especially big expenses (I used to joke with my roommate that if I wanted to get married I’d get a corporate sponsor for my wedding.) The only problem with my plan is that I’m not famous!
ReplyDeleteAquagirl - yeah that's the rub. The rest of it sounds super legit though.
ReplyDeletePersonally I don't think I have the social media hustle for it, I hate faking it.
Its not Mariah and Nick. Nick is a genuinely good guy. I think Mary J.
ReplyDeleteLiza Minelli
ReplyDeleteHushHush you should get your undies in a bundle over trump, the DeVos, anybody who's benefitting from supporting trump. The rich are insatiable, and have no morals, nor scruples.
ReplyDelete@Hunter: I agree. Don’t wanna fake it but there are enough of products & services that I really love that I’m passionate about. And being able to sometimes work in your pj’s is always a +. If only I could get Jennifer Anniston to give up that Smartwater contract...I drink at least a gallon of water/day so it would be a win/win.
ReplyDeleteThe closest I’ve come to realizing this dream was a vacation on a yacht in Cabo. (And no, I’m not a yacht girl, I just had a friend who owned a yacht.) He invited me and said I could bring a friend. We both had FF miles and we challenged each other to get as much free stuff as we could (between her career and my career, we got free bathing suits, beach towels, sunglasses, sunscreen, magazines, and a ton of other stuff.) Just had to pay for food and drinks. Unfortunately he had to sell the yacht. Couldn’t afford the gas!
So is this good or bad, sounds fuxking brilliant to me.🤔
ReplyDeleteAquagirl-- that sounds like it was a great (and low expense) time! 🚢🌞🌴🍹
ReplyDeleteI think this is Mary J Blige, her ex was a skunk
ReplyDelete@Vita: Yeah, so much fun! Once we got the yacht invite and the airline tickets, we just started this challenge to see how much we could get comped. We could’ve afforded it, but it became a game. She worked in publishing, and actually told her clients what we were doing! So we had things like Time Magazine beach towels (even though I owned nicer ones) and she had a client who had a bathing suit catalog and said we could each order 3 free bathing suits (that was a leap of faith) but everything worked out (luckily I didn’t end up looking like Emily Ride-a-Jet-Ski—I was on the ‘right’ side of sexy) and the trip was a blast! Moral of the story: when you get an invite, find a way to go!
ReplyDeleteAnd...apparently Enthusiasm Quotes agrees!
ReplyDeleteBTW: Hope all is okay in Chicago. I’ve been keeping up with the Jussie, Kim Foxx, etc. situations. How’s the mood there?
hunter & aquagirl: not all that glitters, is gold.
ReplyDeleteFamous people don't really have to put any work into getting comps, but the non famous work like donkeys.
I have a fashion influencer in my family. Unfortunately she's not 25, she's much older, already had children and a husband, whom she barely sees. On the outside her life seems all glam with the free clothes, free short trips to promote brands and whatnot. In reality she works 16 hour days, barely gets paid, needs to hawk the shit she gets sent just to be able to afford the next flight or her thousands of $$$ of taxi fees each month. A lot of her invites require her to attend events that she needs to pay the hotel and flight for, otherwise she won't get invited next time. A lot of shit she gets sent is not sellable because they check and if she sells it, they stop sending her free shit.
If she's lucky she'll see her kids for a couple of hours a week. Her husband is despairing, she thinks she's Madonna, her head is totally inside her ass, she's starved herself into a skeleton to compete with 25-year old influencers, and we're all awaiting with baited breath the moment when she realises that her choice of 'career' is bullshit in a bubble.
Aquagirl-- Sounds like it was a great adventure, and a lesson in jumping at a unique opportunity! Chicagoland is crazy, wonderful and horrifying all at once, as usual. A horrible case where suburban parents tortured and killed their 5 year old has been dominating the news, with the occasional RKelly tidbit. I
ReplyDelete** Did you see Enthusiasm wrote another response?!**😃
Unknown - And, that is a great story about how one can get in too deep! I hope everything will be ok when that "bubble" bursts!
@Unknown: I am so sorry for the situation with your family member. That sounds so horrible for all involved. I hope that my posts did not offend you. I actually did think about ‘having my life sponsored’ when I was in college. (I think I was ahead of my time). In reality, I was just a very creative person who had undergone the loss of my father and knew I’d have to support myself for the rest of my life (just FYI, my family did not have a lot of money. I always worked, starting with babysitting at 11.) While in college f/t, I managed to find myself a job in fashion which was quite lucky because a) they paid me in cash; b) they paid for all of our food if we wanted to order in; c) they would let me take all of the samples that were discarded from the line—not only for me, but for my roommates. They knew that I was in college & struggling, and literally they didn’t need the stuff so they’d rather have me take it. I’d arrive back to my dorm with overflowing shopping bags to share with my friends & it was like Christmas! d) they hired my BFF!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I did one thing that could’ve brought me notariety, but I decided to refuse payment and just barter. My hairdresser wanted to take photos of me to hang in his salon. So I agreed to having him as my hairdresser and a make-up artist of my choosing and his photographer. The pictures were stunning and for a long time, it was weird for me to walk in there seeing these over-sized images of myself.
In any case, I’m just giving these examples because, ever since I was 17 and up, I was gaining things—whether financial or commercial but I would never put myself in the situation that your sister has. Never pay for something where there is no guaranteed return.
@Vita: yes, I have been following the AJ Freund case. So heartbreaking that I was in tears. CPS definitely dropped the ball. He was taken away for the first 18 months of his life due to Opiod addiction and her prior son and a foster child were taken away, yet AJ was returned? And now she has a 3-year old and she’s pregnant again? And multiple visits from CPS (I think 18 visits) showed unhealthy and unsafe living conditions? I never thought these words would come out of my mouth, but women & men like this should have to undergo mandatory sterilization. It’s simimilar to (I think) Blind #1–the rapper under 20 with so many kids? No. Just No.
ReplyDelete@aquagirl - I might sound cold hearted but I only feel bad for the kids. She's so self important right now, it's super off putting. Her kids don't even get breakfast unless the cleaner comes early enough to make it for them, cause mama is in the bathroom getting her 2 hours of make up on for her instagram shoots.
ReplyDeleteYour posts did not offend me whatsoever, I just despair at an apparent 84% of millennials wanting to have careers as social media influencers. What the fuck? Get a real education and a real job.
Aaaanywho, just wanted to let you guys know the truth behind the superficial glam.
