    1. You aren't missing anything. Tastes like jizz in both saltiness and gag-inducing texture.

  2. Anthony Bourdain convinced me that every food should be tried once. I will go along with that until I get to brains, eyeballs, or warthog anus.

Caviar, oysters, and agree with Zebra, no brains, eyes or buttholes, or bugs.

  14. BAKED BEANS, never!

  15. I've never had a waffle or a macaroon in my life. And I'd never eat any type of strange organ meat--eyeballs, testicles, hearts, feet

    1. Macarons are overrated IMHO. (And I think I had my first macarons at a nice patisserie/chocolaterie where everything else was decent, so I’m guessing they were supposed to taste that way?)

      They are wonderfully Instagramable, tho.

  24. Great thread. I will literally try anything. I will never, ever eat scrapple again. It has a smell that squeezes your brain. I don't know how else to describe it. I didn't think I'd like liver, but I did.

    1. I love liver (although I’d never eat foie gras because of what my French-language teacher taught me about how they’re bred).

    2. Most of the liver I do eat is Indonesian food.

Literally “offal” by its etymology (butchery leftovers).

  25. Amish canned meat.

  26. Very gross and hilarious thread!!

I'm gonna say organ meats or assorted bodily parts like Zebra describes yechhhh, bugs and more

    ReplyDelete
  27. Something that I haven't already tried? Probably bugs. Can't get my head around that. I would also say offal but my mom was a big fan, so I've been force-fed some of that garbage in my lifetime.

  28. No offense to ethnic foods bc I love love love variety but injera Ethiopian flatbread is like a coughed-up lung sitting on a plate and a trypophobic's nighmare. Gluten gloppy snotty oatmeal comes in second.

  29. Century eggs. The lovely "emmymadeinjapan" does great food videos on YT but not even she could get me to try that dark gelatinous mess. She lost me at "smells like ammonia". lol

  30. Don't knock fried crickets. They were very good and garlicy. I do draw the line at worms. So to the person who won't try deviled eggs - they are kinda gross.

  31. Oysters or crawfish... shudder

    Haggis is wonderful!

  32. Unless I am starving (probably not even then) insects, worms and grubs.

    escargot

  34. Balls. Brains. Tongue. Feet. Stomach. I love hot dogs, so may have eaten rat anuses - but never by choice.

  35. Liver, onions and oysters

  36. Organ meat. Kidneys, liver, giblets, etc. My mother used to make me eat liver when I was a child. She gave up when I was about 12 years old, thank goodness! Also, wild boar. My ex mil was famous in the area for making it. When she set it on the table, I almost became physically ill. Just the smell of it was something I couldn't tolerate. (This was when I lived in Spain and the whole family decided that "Americans didn't know how to eat.")

  37. As a "Bizarre Foods" fan, I'll try anything once. My try list includes Balut, Haggis, Head Cheese and Sea Urchin. " If it looks good, eat it."

  38. Bugs - we’re being told more frequently this will solve climate change and a population problem, so I expect to see all the “green” cultists and psychos chowing down! I’ve also seen Snow Piercer so I know how it will likely go...

  39. So many things, but one that hits all sorts of Hell No buttons would be roasted tarantulas: apparently it is eaten by some tribespeople in South America.
