I hate daylight savings and all of it. But I like spring forward because I like longer days. Makes it easier to garden in the evening when it’s less hot. Still think they should get rid of it though.
I like them both. Fall is my favorite season, but after this particularly frigid winter (with 14 snow days!), I'm really looking forward to spring this year!!
Heathens! There should be DST year round. Great for retailers, great for drivers. Believe it or not, most people don't like being active in the mornings, and get most of their leisure time in the evenings.
Our 2 shithead Senators in Florida have introduced once again a bill to permanently make it daylight savings time all year around because the legislature here voted for it and it can't be enacted unless Congress approves it. They wouldn't consider it last year. So Floriduh is trying to push it through again this year.
I love fall back on that one Sunday morning in October, but after that, the thrill is gone, and I start to feel like a Morloch. I cant do harsh heat and humidity, but I do enjoy daylight!
i HATE daylight savings time. standard time is the REAL time. it needs to stay that way. the savings time is messing with real time. it's no longer necessary. kids aren't out harvesting late into the evenings.
it's ridiculous to be still light out at 9:00pm at night.
I want all the light, when it doesn't begin to get dark until 10:45 pm here in Belgium. However, we did not do Daylight Savings Time this year because the Belgian government said people hated it. We did not Fall Back at the beginning of November, and we will not Spring Forward. We will just stay the same.
Fall back is my favorite. I live in Ventura County, so I have no worries about sunshine. Plus Spring Forward is a pain in the ass for little kids . That extra hour of sleep is important!!
I grew up in Arizona where there is no change. I don't see a benefit to the change....but I must admit I'm fond of the 'extra' hour of sleep in the Fall.
I am with Raven ! I hate it ,It is just BS at this point it has no reson to be anymore.Kids have to go to school in the pitch black darkness because we turn the clocks back. Before cable boxes and wifi,we had to make sure we remembered to turn our clocks back or ahead.Everyone stressed out because School, work starts even if we forget or screw up changing the alarm clock. As I get older, I stopped living my the clock and just live. But now time goes by too damn fast even when your not having fun.It took me 5 decades it seemed to reach 21,once I turned 45 it seem like a year passes by in 2 months.60 gets here too damn quick lol. !
With spring forward, I do love having it be much lighter at the end of the day. It's such a drag coming home from work in the dark during winter, so the added light is wonderful. But I hate haaaate HATE losing that hour of sleep when we spring forward. One hour sounds insignificant, but it seriously messes me up for about a week afterward. Tired, cranky and miserable. I wish we could be done with daylight savings, and just stay in forward mode permanently!
Spring forward!
ReplyDeleteNeither- abolish DST
ReplyDeleteHowever, I do like the extra hour of sleep in the fall
I want all the light, especially in the evening.

ReplyDeleteFall back. There is no reason to do DST anymore. Never worked anyway.

ReplyDeleteBullshit. Morning people rule the world.

ReplyDelete@Duh, You're confusing middle management with ownership. ;)

There are a lot of Jonah Ryans here. You all should run for congress. People really rally around this issue :)
ReplyDeleteAfter 3-4 days, definitely spring forward. Those first few mornings getting up at the new 5:45 (really 4:45) am is a true death march

ReplyDeleteBack in the olden days I like the extra hour to study for exams.

ReplyDeleteI work 12 hour night shifts. So if I am working I prefer spring forward.
ReplyDeleteit's ridiculous to be still light out at 9:00pm at night.
ReplyDeleteI ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!
Me too!!! Can go to the beach after work!! Summer Solstice is my favorite day of the year. In Europe , the sun goes down at 10:00pm and loved it!
DeleteHAHHAHAHHAHAHA hello from Jakarta
ReplyDeleteSpring Forward!
ReplyDeleteAnyone who thinks it’s ridiculous for it to be light out at 9 pm sounds pretty boring to me.
