Today's Blind Items - The Sisters

Last year, this A list band who has a member that does more than just play in a band, performed in a European country. This year, the band is not going anywhere near that country. Apparently last year, two sisters who are the legal age of consent in that country, but not anywhere close to legal here in the US, got backstage and met the band. The lead singer of the band and a family member took the sisters to a hotel where the band was staying for the night. There was some partying and when the girls decided they wanted to leave, the two men wouldn't let them go. They then took turns raping each of the sisters for most of the night. Only when the band was ready to head to the airport, did they turn the sisters loose. The two men are wanted for questioning about the attacks, but there are no warrants out for their arrest.

While on vacation in Hungary and Vienna I was shocked to learn the age of consent is 14 there. Talk about pedophiles dream destination.

  4. Believe it or not Montana, that isn't even close to the youngest age of consent in the world either. The youngest is 11 and 6 other countries are12 or 13.😱

    ReplyDelete
  5. @Montana It is also 14 in italy, recently, the sentence for two rapists was overturned and they were set free because the 3 female judge panel ruled the "girl was too ugly to be raped"

Italy also had the famous "a girl wearing jeans cant be raped" case

  6. it doesnt matter if they were in a foreign country IF they are american citizens. if you go to thailand to engage with a minor for sex you have still violated u.s. law and can be arrested for it.

  8. There was a fabulous art exhibit recently at Kansas State University called "What were you wearing?"

Sexual assault survivors - male and female, child and adult - put on display what they were wearing when they were assaulted.

Most of it is jeans, T-shirts, swimsuits at the beach, totally ordinary clothing.

  11. Muslim countries do not have an age of consent, since consent doesn't exist.
In many muslim countries the minimum age of marriage is different for boys than it is for girls. Some Muslim countries do not have a minimum age for marriage for girls. Oh wait, perhaps they do...that'd be ZERO years old. It's great, that way you can just buy your future child bride as a baby, and make her your sex slave while raising her.

I'm waiting for the day big mouthed western Neo feminists protest this subject, since we are talking about millions upon millions of girls being enslaved into forced marriages with middle aged pedophiles.
But hey, the pedos aren't white, so I guess it's alright.

  14. This is sickening, and I hope they will be caught! Where are the parents of girls this young and are they actually parenting their children? I see lots of 15, 14, 13 and even 12 year old girls dressed way too old and wearing way to much makeup for their age constantly posting pics on Instagram and Facebook. Why would u let two girls under a certain age go to a concert by themselves? More parents need to parent and stop being the friend and letting their kids do what they want, they think their being the "cool" parent, but actually putting their children in harms way!

Thank you Depeche Model. They are also allowed to rub on the child bride without penetration until the child bride is old enough in their opinion to be penetrated. Of course we will be told we should accept that in the name of cultural enrichment.

  22. A list Diva, agreed. Nobody deserves assault (the very idea is retarded) but there are steps a person can take that can lessen your risk. Why wouldn’t anyone take those steps? It’s kind of a “is this worth it?” exercise. Well theoretically you DO have the “right” to walk down the street at 2am shit faced drunk and dressed like a prostitute, but those “rights” don’t stop predators from preying on you. Is the risk worth the potential assault (or worse)? Everyone does have some responsibility for their own safety. This isn’t excusing criminals but just being a sensible adult, or failing that, setting sensible rules for the minors under your care.

You can also bleat on about “teach men not to rape” but that’s probably about as successful as the war on drugs has been, or making murder illegal. Of course, it’ might quite literally be your funeral if you think that putting the responsibility for your safety onto others (#
that couldn’t give a shit about you) is a good choice.

This isn’t my endorsing rape or harassment obviously, just pointing out the real world isn’t Tumblr or a feminist meeting.

    ReplyDelete
  23. @Depeche Model - Since you are very obviously outraged, nay TRIGGERED, by the goings on in Muslim countries, why don't you take action to challenge those who oppose the treatment of girls in these countries to take action? If you feel so strongly you should definitely stand up and do something, oh great and powerful anonymous internet gossip site commenter.

  25. Between "someone who drugs and sexually assaults women" and an out and proud Holocaust denier, when pressed, I shall most probably find myself on the side of the former. Not that the turd in question understands how low that makes them (below motherfucking rapists!), but not the first thing they won't understand.

as a matter of fact, it's revolting.
You mock and play and make fun. In the meantime, REAL PEOPLE are being assaulted.
REAL PEOPLE are being discriminated against because of our race, culture, sexuality...things we have no choice over.

  30. Astra, in the real world modestly dressed girls and women (and boys) still get raped just like anybody else. The real world is not a right-wing Christian cult meeting. Now i'm not saying we should just run around drunk all the time, throwing all caution to the wind. But we also need to acknowledge that we're creating risk by teaching guys that the opposite sex needs to appear chaste in order to not be abused and disrespected. Part of being a sensible adult is being more careful about the messages we send about how to treat others. Honor crimes and victim-blaming happen for the same reasons.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Luna, where did I say any different than basically what you’re saying? I said the real world is a place full of fucked up individuals and you can only be responsible for your own safety, as much as you possibly can. There are plenty of men that wouldn’t rape any woman, for any reason, no matter how they’re dressed or how drunk they are, etc. But there are also ones that will. If you make good choices and be as sensible as possible in preventing problems, hopefully you’ll be ok. I doubt that you can ever stop someone who is hell bent on raping someone, through “education” or anything like it. It’s unfortunate but that seems to be how it is. Do I wish it was different? Of course. But wishing something is different, isn’t changing reality.

It’s like driving. You can wear a seat belt and be extra careful and obey all the rules but you can still get t-boned by some jackass. Just because that can happen, doesn’t mean you aren’t as careful as possible anyway. It isn’t wrong to expect people to make sensible decisions to minimize their likelihood of being raped. If even one person is not raped because they took sensible precautions, I think that is worth it. Of course any assaulter should be prosecuted regardless of clothing, inebriation, whatever, of the victim.

Hope this clears up any confusion.

  32. When i was drugged and assaulted I was at a prom and I was 15. My boyfriend gave me a lude and raped me when I was passed out. I never let him get in my pants, prior or later. I was wearing a dress with about 50 little buttons on it, and tights because it was cold outside. I would never have known it happened if he hadn't called me years later drunk as shit and confessed. I WAS so pissed. I didn't choose to lose my virginity to him and if I didn't know it was for the best. OF COURSE he became an attorney. A few years ago I was in his town and just freaked out when I saw his law firm near my old neighborhood. I did a little digging and found out he was married with children, including a daughter. I called him on a Sunday afternoon and told him I was going to pass by his house to talk to him and he said OH NO we are having a barbecue. I said I don't give a fuck. I want to meet your daughter and explain to her how Catholic boys weren't to be trusted. I didn't go, but I got great pleasure from knowing he sweated it out for a day or a week. This was back in the days of rotary phones and no social media but he ran his mouth to about 20 of my friends about the situation and actually had the audacity to say YOU USED TO B E SUCH A NICE GIRL> after he tried to ruin my reputation.

ANYWAY just wanted to say that I wasn't whorish, met him through a Catholic youth group, and I read the readings in the church every Sunday. My dad knew his dad, too. I didn't do anything wrong but in 1979 in Memphis I would have been blamed, even if He dosed me. I had never taken a lude by choice, but that happened to me twice in Memphis. LUDES were huge there, I was told, because they have a Navy base .People would buy them in coffee can siZe jars on the black market.

But I digress. Thanks for letting me share/. I will not ever write about this again and I have no t before. Just felt like putting it in the permanent record, so to speak. OH he was an SAE by the way. In Tennessee they were all about rape culture, so they bragged.

  34. Death penalty for rape when there is physical and DNA evidence, zero recidivism. Preferably public execution to get the point across. It's a sadistic crime, literally deriving physical pleasure from someone else's pain. There's always some kind of mitigating argument for killing or robbing, but there's no excuse for rape.

And rapists are going to rape, doesn't matter the clothing, nobody is walking around in armor. They care more about whether the victim is vulnerable, do they have friends around, are they under the influence, are they mentally incapacitated, etc.

It set us all back because he and his friends probably were dick wads but I just didn't believe her story.

  47. I just did a quick research on age of consent in different countries and for some reason ended up finding out that only 2 countries in the world consider fear of rape reason to ask for asylum: Brazil and Argentina. The only 2 countries that give asylum visas to women who fear rape and gang rape by political, racial or religious reasons (works like a political asylum). I also find out that pedophilia, rape and gang can be consider "murder of the soul" in Brazil there for, depending on the judge and his interpretation of the law, a rapist is judged on rape and murder at the same time.

Maybe that's the name of the book!~I have two more to write before I get to it but really I wish I weren't tired because there is so much more to be said. PARDO N me it's all off topic. I don't even know who the subjects of this thread are I was just triggered by the comments .I really only like the comments. The blinds are too convoluted, though I do read every day. I was theorizing about a blind I would write and it's very difficult to no t ID someone and yet still have the BI have credibility. Like An A+++ MOGUL was in a limo with a 17 year old and a four year old in front of a venue in LA/ Like how do you say anything else relative to the credibility of the report without outing the two witnesses? Just wondering

  51. Astra and Momo and Luna have "triggered" me to comment, which I rarely do, and usually late, so I doubt anyone will see this or care. I wonder more and more these days why people can't understand the concept of "both ... and." Luna, basic logic. You argument does not invalidate Astra's point. Which I think is something every human being needs to come to grips with. Take responsibility for your own safety! Doing that doesn't guarantee safety, but it helps. Women and girls must understand that some men are rapists and you can't necessarily tell who they are. Let me just say, I like men, a lot, but physically understand my own vulnerability to assault. I didn't want it to happen to me, didn't drink, was careful, but I was still date-raped in college. Was an older guy, one of the cool ones. We were just hanging out, back to my dorm room, a kiss, and before you know it he's on top and inside with all his weight on me. After it was over I dismissed it and him. Didn't freak out or even think about it as "rape." I did know he penetrated me against my will, and was a not the great guy I had assumed he was. I also didn't blame myself. Let's say I chalked it up to experience and moved on ... avoiding him ever after. I was digusted by the Kavanaugh spectacle because c'mon, that chick was saying, be a victim for f-ing forever. Don't get over it for 30 years? We should all keep our wounds open and fresh, why? To shame men who can't be shamed? There are predators in the world. A predator will take advantage when they can. Why is this so hard for girls to grasp. Sure, it would be nice to live in a world with no rapists. That is not reality. The "both and is" that sure, you can be careful and still be raped. Sucks. But it is not victim-shaming to state the obvious fact that one should look out for oneself. (All you shoulda coulda wouldas please spare me. Just telling who I was, what I thought and what I did, not what a coulda done, not what I shoulda thought, not who you woulda wanted me to be.)
