Blind Items Revealed #4

February 25, 2019

Oscars

This actress, who was in an earlier blind item was having a tough time defending her position of why she went and supported this disgraced comic at a recent show he put on. It took some shine off her always on luster.

Mindy Kaling/Aziz Ansari

  1. Maybe because he's not disgraced and really didn't do anything as bad as most of those who ARE disgraced did. He had a bad dating experience, we all have at least once. Difference is, his is now public knowledge and the rest of us, don't have to worry about that unless someone does it on your fb page.

  2. First he got dragged to the coals for wine color then he started to denounce both alt right and far left aka pc police in his shows. Of course he is in the shit list of the twitter mob!

  3. I thought that most in Hollywood believed him; so how would her support harm her?

  4. Fake news
I read her instagram press release when this happened and it looked great. She was succinct and explained her feelings well.

  6. He's not disgraced, Enty. Some thirsty wannabe went on social media with a pathetic post about her date with him, nothing more, and she was (rightly) called out for it, too.

  12. This is another blind that came from Breitbenty, the alt-right version of Enty. It's ALWAYS the same pattern.

"(Insert name of libtard celebrity #1) claims in public that (s)he supports #metoo and victims. Yet, (s)he went to great strides to show support to (supposedly) disgraced (insert name of libtard celebrity #2) behind the scenes. What a hypocrite!"

Occasionally, you have the alternate blind item, which is that libtard celebrity #1 was even confronted by some random celebrity that's even not a conservative (like Miley Cyrus), to show that everybody agrees with this judgment.

We got this first for Lena Dunham (but she has an actual history of wrongheaded support). Lately, we had this for Mindy Kaling, Amy Poehler, Oprah Winfrey, Rose McGowan and Judd Apatow. The first blind item about Apatow was actually a straight rip-off from a Breitbart article published hours before.

  16. Amber Tamblyn was all over Aziz today. I’m sorry, is it just me, or do I get shades of women wearing #metoo shirts when I look @ her hubby/boyfriend?!?

Mindy Kaling is very lucky to be where she is. She has been promoted to the nth degree for ages.

  19. Who cares? They both suck and Mindy looks like somebody took a dump and molded it into an Indian troll doll.

  20. Why are conservatives such angry, mean people Angela?

  21. I'm not American, so I'm not really qualified to comment on your particular situation.

Yet, it's quite easy to notice that society appears to be changing, and that behaviors such as sexual harassment and male privilege are getting criticized at last. Yet, I don't think things are changing that fast. In a "he said, she said" situation, we tended, in the western civilisation, to take the man's word 90% of the time. Now, it's pushing towards the 80 or 75% direction.

But reactionaries (people who label themselves as conservatives but are indeed very agressive) will not focus on the fundamental inequalities in how we tend to regard men and women. They will see the threat of feminists taking advantage of this push to make it 50/50 or 20/80, giving men a taste of their own medicine. Which will never happen (even if there must be radical feminists who'd enjoy that). But these reactionaries will do everything they can to fight the apocalyptic perspective that will never happen (but where they would lose ground), and save a biased system that they're at least comfortable with.

So, they will attack the credibility of anybody who promotes change (or who attacks Trump). Comments here have made the underlying idea behind the blind item explicit. Kaling sides with Ansari, because they're both "brown skinned". She owes her entire career to the fact that she's from a minority, etc. Calling Kaling a hypocrite supposedly proves that feminism is a posture that gets dismissed if she can promote another minority (the Indian-Pakistani community) that counts more for the so-called "feminist" than women's rights. The overall idea is that both Kaling and Ansari have reached a position that they don't deserve, particularly morally, due to some kind of positive discrimination they are taking advantage of.

But, as a few people wrote, the story about the bad date with Ansari is not assault. Published in a different context, it could have started an honest conversation about what's acceptable for a first date and how two people can have a different lecture on simple body language. And actually, few people regard him as a monster or as a disgraced comedian. He's simply in an uncomfortable position, he needed to keep a low profile for a while to allow some conversation to take place in his absence, but there's nothing he can't get away from by trying to be a better and more responsible person.
His behavior during that date was immature, pushy and inappropriate, he was a jerk, very different from his public persona, who made his date extremely uncomfortable, but nothing more. His fault was not to realize from her many clues that she regarded him as an asshole that night. He's been exposed for that, but he can learn from this mistake. That's not the malicious pattern of overall deception and manipulation that Ryan Adams had with every woman he had views on, for instance.

So, I don't see who exactly would be accusing Mindy Kaling for defending her position on Aziz Ansari, except the writer of the blind or people that believe that liberals are, by their very nature, hypocrites who accuse others of the very thing they actually do (and who can't be trusted in their accusations). Had Ansari acted like that towards, let's say my sister, I would have confronted him but we could have had a conversation. With Ryan Adams, I would have punched the piece of shit in the face.

  22. supporting Aziz is supporting rape culture

  23. Since when are conservatives defending him? Lol. It's the looney libs jumping on his ass even though he literally just had a bad date and the woman didnt walk off when she could have.
