As I have been saying for a couple of months, this foreign born married acting couple consisting of two A- listers are in trouble marriage wise. Last night, their actions just kind of showed everyone else what is going on.

Rachel Weisz/Daniel Craig
Well they're about two of the most sexless actors/actresses I can imagine, no surprise there.
ReplyDeleteI’ve heard rumors about their marriage for several years—so why have a baby last year?
ReplyDeleteBTW, WTF was that outfit she was wearing at the Oscars?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they’ll break up before or after Bond 25 comes out in 2020
ReplyDeleteI like them both. It’s gotta be hard sustaining an uplifting connection w their type of schedules. They had a good run.
ReplyDeleteWait. I thought they were the couple that the husband was deflecting questions saying that I am here for my wife tonight and not for ?s about James Bond which is a nice thing to do. Was it not them?

ReplyDeleteBG listed that item after the Oscars, that he kept steering the attention back to her on her big night. It was really sweet, if true.
Enty has tried to pitch the story for years that Craig is dumb as a rock and spends his time cheating on Weisz. He slept with Rooney Mara, he forced the production to hire Monica Bellucci, just so he could sleep with her, etc.
ReplyDeleteYet, Craig, when on live television, is quite articulate, far from being the doofus described, and as E F and Mozart said, that was the right thing towards Rachel to let her keep the spotlight rather than promoting the next Bond film.
Basically, Enty doesn't seem to make a distinction between Craig's characterization of Bond and the actor. His Bond isn't as elegant and suave as Connery, Moore or Brosnan, but Craig is in line with what a modern secret agent should be, while staying faithful to the character from the original books who is quite unable of commitment. It's an acting choice. Craig has much more range, given his comedic turn in Logan Lucky.
And Idris Elba would never get the part, not because he's black, but simply because he would be at least 50 at the time the first film made after Craig would be released. The producers prefer to pick an actor that can be Bond for at least a decade. People who say that the part should be Elba's are more or less the people who say they would have voted for Obama a third time, just to pass as modern and progressive. The current Bond has done a fine job with the critics and the box office and the producers love him. The question has never really been asked.
@Mozart: Yes, they said that’s why he didn’t walk the red carpet with her.
ReplyDeleteBut if you look at the original comments on this blind it says she threw his arm off of her (idk if that’s true because I didn’t watch.)
Wow apparently being articulate on tv equals intelligence, notify the presses, we are watching geniuses on our screens! ;)

ReplyDeleteAnd apparently saying Idris Elba would make a great Bond is the same as American virtue signalling 😅
ReplyDeleteSo weird because they were top guesses on another blind where he didn't want the red carpet because he didn't want to be asked Bond questions and he let it be HER night. The blind on another site also stated that what seemed/looked to be trouble in paradise was actually this instead, his letting her shine. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteThanks you guys. I KNEW I had read a blind somewhere that he was being really supportive of her career the night of the Oscars and made it clear to interviewers. I do tend to believe BG more than this site though as one site seems to be more quality over quantity and conjecture. Haha but, it's all in good fun nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteAnd, agree about Idris. He will be 50 and he physically wouldn't be able to do the stunts and it is not personal it is just scientific. Bronson shattered his leg on his last Bond movie, Die Another Day, around that age from what I recall. It's just not going to happen people with Idris. LOL give it up.
Craig also had to get surgery on his knee after getting hurt during a fight scene with Dave Bautista in Spectre. That's why he made the "I'd rather slash my wrists" comment when he was asked about doing another one. He had just completed an exhausting shooting which required him to have surgery. The full quote was actually ‘Now? I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists. No, not at the moment. Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment.' Three times "now" or "at the moment" in two lines.
ReplyDeleteSure, Elba would be in a much better shape than Connery when he did Never Say Never Again or Moore on Octopussy or A View to a Kill. Training has improved, he wasn't raised at a time of war restrictions, etc. But it wouldn't be realistic to make him do a lot of physical stuff. Craig's next entry will most likely be a little more psychological than his early ones, reflecting over the age and weariness of his Bond. People will ask for somebody younger and physical after him, rather than giving a shot at Elba who would push in the same direction.
They look fine to me and very happy to have a new baby. Enty invents this stuff.
ReplyDeleteA couple of you are really racists, and idiots, and know-nothings.

ReplyDeletehis charlize can kick my ass routine was excruciating
