I'm getting Kevin Spacey vibes on this one. He's got a record of hitting on straight men and was rumored to have gotten beaten up over it before (when he claimed he was robbed in England).
Have heard that about Spacey but not sure of his rating now. Also, would he still be mostly movie despite House of Cards? Can’t remember how Enty usually describes him because he’s really triple threat.
William F Buckley used to cruise for rough trade. He called it his "habit". I'd say Spaced Out fits that profile. Likes to get thrown around the room after a day playing the urbane wit. Tony Randall, Buck Henry. That kind of persona. BTW, speaking of Buck Henry, does anyone remember his Uncle Buck pedophile skits on SNL when he'd babysit Gilda and Laraine who played preteen girls? I'm guessing those are no longer available from the archives.
Definitely sounds like Spacey, who it's surprising doesn't look worse than Mickey based upon the rumored frequency of his relentless lechery. However, I agree that he might have "disgraced" in his descriptor.
Substance-- is that true about Buckley, Randall and Henry, or were you just mentioning guys of the "urbane wit" sort?
Vita- It's true about Buckley. Gore Vidal taunted him on camera once about it and they came to blows, so to speak. Randall was siring kids in his late 70's. That's SO gay. Kidding. I don't think Henry was. He complained to Nicholas Roeg about his character in Man Who Fell to Earth being gay. That witty urbanity talk show regular- Ustinov was another of the type- comes off as gayish today, but back then the middle class hadn't discovered homoistics yet and so effete straights didn't have to cowboy up their personas.
I couldn’t blame a man for hitting Rourke. Not because he hit on him but because if I was him, I’d be terrified he was going to drag me down to the sewers and eat me alive, like another Pennywise. He is SCARY AS SHIT.
Thanks, Substance! Id love to see a battle of wits between Gore Vidal and William Buckley, had to be colorful! FWIW, I adore Peter Ustinov... awesome raconteur, and Topkapi will always be one of the reasons Im grateful for TCM.
All the above mentioned who are/were A+ are all known for either being gay/bi/pan (minus Hanks, I don't count Cuba he wasn't A+). I don't think it would be a HUGE shock to a straight guy enough to punch his lights out.
Mickey Rourke?
ReplyDeleteTravolta?
ReplyDeleteOf its Route how would one even tell? Lol
ReplyDeleteAnother excuse for some face work anyway
Rourke *
DeleteLOL Tricia. He's definitely been beaten with the ugly stick.
ReplyDeleteHe used to be so handsome in a rugged way(Diner/Pope of Greenwich Village and the 9.5🥰weeks.) shame he would’ve aged nicely I bet
DeleteWig, face and body is a complete mess. Bring back 9 1/2 weeks Mickey.
ReplyDeleteYesssssssss. One of my faves. Amazing soundtrack too
DeleteI think MR can still scrap despite being elderly. Did not know he dropped the bitch and made the switch. Oh well

ReplyDeleteAnd I would argue he's been demoted to B list after his fall from Grace last year.

DeleteDon’t think it’s Rourke. Since he was a boxer I’d think he’d be able to defend himself if someone tried to beat him up.
ReplyDeleteAgree about 9 1/2 weeks though!
🔥
DeleteSpacey would have been identified as ‘disgraced’
ReplyDeleteOh Mickey. You were so beautiful. Whyyy did you feel the need to be a boxer and whyyyy didn't you have a better plastic surgeon?
ReplyDeleteAlso- I have no idea who this blind is about.
Cuba Gooding Jr. Ralph Finnes.

Hanks?
ReplyDeleteMickey would usually be able to to defend himself....unless he was very drunk, which he might be if he was sloppily making a pass at a straight man(?)
ReplyDeleteSo I guess the consensus is the he's bisexual? What a character!

Jon Voight got any leanings in that direction?
ReplyDeleteBut I think Montana got it, John Travolta.
In no universe is Tom Hanks B+. Come on.
ReplyDeleteI agree that this is Cuba Gooding Jr even though I feel B+ is generous.
Rourke used to be a boxer, so I would think he could at least try to defend himself.

ReplyDeleteRourke looks so horrifying now. I cannot believe he is the same man from Angel Heart or Rumble Fish. I can see a guy hitting him.

ReplyDeleteAstra--lol!

@Substance D I totally remember Bucks pedo skits. Gilda and Lorraine dressed like girl scouts and Buck with his camera
ReplyDeleteplease - not Spacey - he likes them young and defenseless - he would never seek to victimize someone he didn't have power over
ReplyDeleteSomebody else. Adrian Brody?
ReplyDeleteVita- Try finding this movie. I think it was on Netflix. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzgfQvB2dvA
ReplyDeleteAll the Buckley/Gore you can stand.

ReplyDeleteHow about Nic Cage? He was in LV drunk AF with Fiancée #4 trying to get a marriage license and yelling shit attracting attention. Maybe he bailed on her for a bit, saw a dude who looked like her, and went in for the grab. LOL
Stranger things with Nic. Such a sad state of affairs and the irony of him being wasted in Vegas. He's circling the drain.
