Blind Item #2
Pretty sure the massive multi-million dollar donation to the school is what probably helped ensure the offspring of this permanent A list writer/producer/rapper got admitted to the school.

Dr Dre
ReplyDeleteDre posted a photo with his daughter holding her admissions packet and included a funny comment about no bribes being necessary. I don't believe this blind.
ReplyDeleteWhat he said was.. "#NoJailTime"
DeleteDr Dre donated with Jimmy Iovine to usc and has a building named after him. So she didn’t get there on her own which he is bragging about.
ReplyDeleteDonations are normal. Other peoples kids benefit from it. Bribes directly to officials and coaches, hurt the schools and students.
ReplyDelete+1 MDA. Oh but that's how it's always been done. Wealthy families get their mediocre child into a prestigious college and the university gets a hefty donation. (eye roll)
ReplyDeleteDr. Dre. He shouldn't have bragged about his daughter.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Dre's child had decent marks for him to boldly post something like this. So good for her. And good for him for donating towards the school.
ReplyDeleteI think this is different than Felicity Huffman writing checks to get her thick daughters test scores changed.
But, I love Dr Dre, so I'll probably defend him until I see receipts
$70 million in donations is normal?
ReplyDeleteEver since Dr Dre beat up reporter Dee Barnes in front of a bunch of people at a club, and never apologized and it fazed none of his fans. The story came out again when the NWA movie came out, he is just a misogynistic jerk. I hate that he he made tons of money on Beats. He needs to pay Dee Barnes some restitution. He is not a good man to women.

ReplyDeleteYeah he is brutal and has no soul. Enjoyed the Chronic and love my beats headphones. Scary guy who has not aged well
DeleteHeadline on DM article "REVEALED: Dr. Dre made a $70 MILLION donation to USC and has a building named after him on campus after boasting his daughter got into the college 'all on her own' in the wake of admission scandal"
ReplyDeletehttps://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6844465/Dr-Dre-says-daughter-got-USC-despite-70m-donation.html
USC must be a real intellectual hotbed, what with all the brilliant celebrity kids enrolling there.
ReplyDeleteWell, Dr. Dre is a genius, so it’s quite possible is daughter had the grades and the portfolio to get in.
ReplyDeleteEven with a hint of brains, the fact his daughter would have benefitted from all the best education, tutoring and networking money can buy means that it's impossible for them (or any rich family) to claim to get anywhere on merit. It's like Kylie Kardashian trying to say she's a "self-made" billionaire.
ReplyDeleteDonations and building are acceptable, but bribes are bad, especially when stealing from someone who could have used it.
ReplyDeleteDre is a musical genius,so his kid has to be smart.
Very Nice And Interesting Post, thank you for sharing

Reading around and seeing idiots bend over backwards to defend this, "because I like HIM and he's so talented, so it isn't anything at all like what those other parents did" and pretending Dre WASN'T greasing the wheels (or palms) for his daughter to go to USC, is hilarious.
ReplyDeleteIf he wanted her to go to NYU, or DeVry Institute, NYU or DeVry would have gotten the $70 million. He paid her way in the door. He is no different.
anyone who thinks $70 mil to a non-ivy school is a bribe, is definitely retarded
ReplyDeleteSince when are college donations 'normal'? What a joke
